Background of the Study

People are depends on technology and everyone from the young to old seems to be

deeply involved. Technology has become one of the most important elements in today’s

societies and its role to our lives keeps getting complex. It is true that it has impacted all

sectors of society and even helped to increase efficiency and effectiveness. However,

some people also say that it induces laziness and can cause people to focus more fun

side of it (social media, streaming movies and videos) instead of working and using

one’s time well. While the above is true in some people, one cannot dispute the fact that

technology has helped to improve our lives and to change thing for the better. The

integration of technological innovations into different facets of our lives has indeed

helped to transform the world and to improve efficiency in almost everything we do.

Technology takes different forms nowadays people provide various descriptions about it

and a majority of these are dependent on what or how it has been effective in one’s job.

The people have smartphones with them all the time. So it makes sense to use

these to control home appliances. Using the app you can control all the appliances like

TV, fans, light etc. It’s like a Siri which can be controlled using voice (command given by

user). You can give the command to switch on or off

the devices (like light, fan etc.) and also manipulate them like fan speed, light intensity.

Commands are sent via a Bluetooth module to Arduino. So there is doing some

important work.

In conclusion, the world is introduced to new mind-blowing ideas every day.

While we jump and make merry whenever we see new improvements, it is also

essential that we seek to maintain our human nature. Technology is indeed

revolutionary but it should also never change people who we are as people.

Therefore, the researchers have also made huge strides in the search for the life

away from earth. With the many improvements in technology, everyone is rushing to

have a taste of the efficiency and speed it promise.

Specific Problems

1. The people always forget to turn off the appliances when they leave, that may

cause of fire.

2. Over used room appliances that cause over heat and deterioration.

3. During typhoon, the power supply might shut down dramatically; usage of any

electronic device without an internal battery is not applicable.

4. Absence of information about the electricity units and costs.

5. Forgetting the electrical device plugged after leaving the room.

Objective of the Study

The main objective of the study is to develop an augmented reality virtual school

automation assistant.

Specific Objectives

The proponent tends to address the following:

1. To create a project that assist you throughout the day.

2. To create a project study that uses short messages service (SMS) to remind

you. The Arduino would be connected to the network through a GSM module

which would reply with another text message.

3. To create a project that can control the room appliances.

4. To create a project that uses android app that you can give command to

control your room electrical appliances.

5. To create a project that can shut down all the electrical device such as;

electricfan, lights etc.,

Significance of the Study

The user will know the importance of power saving and how can it affects our daily lives.

By developing this project study, for them to understand the importance of being

responsible for things left open in the room that can be detrimental. By that, they will

know what to do.

To the Community

The development of this project study will be significant to promote the safety of the

people residing near. This will serve as monitoring device for the people to know the

power saving which can very useful during our daily lives.

To the Researchers

Researchers are also part of the community and also experiencing forgetting the power

saving of the electrical devices which also make them one of the beneficiaries of the

project study itself. Researchers will know the importance of power saving by using their

own device. Researchers also have the opportunity to contribute to save the residing

near.

To the Future Researchers

Researchers can provide additional ideas to future researchers In developing related

devices. The project study can be a basis of developing a new one with help of new

technologies. This project study can also work as a guide and reference for the

researcher for future development.

Definition of Terms
Arduino - is an open-source electronics platform based on easy-to-use hardware and
software. Arduino boards are able to read inputs - light on a sensor, a finger on a
button, or a Twitter message - and turn it into an output - activating a motor, turning on
an LED, publishing something online.
Arduino uno - is a microcontroller board based on the ATmega328P (datasheet). It has
14 digital input/output pins (of which 6 can be used as PWM outputs), 6 analog inputs, a
16 MHz quartz crystal, a USB connection, a power jack, an ICSP header and a reset
button.
Arduino 4 Relays Shield - allows your Arduino driving high power loads. The Arduino
4 Relays Shield is a solution for driving high power loads that cannot be controlled
by Arduino's digital IOs, due to the current and voltage limits of the controller.
LDR Light Dependent Resistor - An LDR is a component that has a
(variable) resistance that changes with the light intensity that falls upon it. This allows
them to be used in light sensing circuits.
Relay control board module - Relay boards are computer boards with an array
of relays and switches. They have input and output terminals and are designed
to control the voltage supply. Relay boards provide independently programmable,
real-time control for each of several onboard relay channels.
Arduino IDE - is a cross-platform application (for Windows, macOS, Linux) that is
written in the programming language Java. It is used to write and upload programs to
Arduino compatible boards, but also, with the help of 3rd party cores, other vendor
development boards.
Java - is a programming language that produces software for multiple platforms.
When a programmer writes a Java application, the compiled code (known as
bytecode) runs on most operating systems (OS), including Windows, Linux and Mac
OS. Java derives much of its syntax from the C and C++ programming languages.
Augmented - reality (AR) is a type of interactive, reality-based display environment that
takes the capabilities of computer generated display, sound, text and effects to enhance
the user's real-world experience.
Virtual - is something that exists in the mind, exists in essence but not in fact or created
by a computer. An example of virtual is an imaginary friend. An example of virtual is a
world created by a computer video game.
