Michael Wormwood - An inactive moron. Also doubles as a Big Kid. CLASSROOM KIDS Elementary & Middle School actors who can sing, act, and dance. Most importantly, these actors must be brave, curious, focused, and excited to put in the work required to be in a professional production. Lavender - Matilda's self-proclaimed best friend. Extra small and very plucky. Amanda - The girl who the Trunchbull swings around by the pigtails Alice Hortensia Bruce Bogtrotter - He eats a chocolate cake and has a solo in Revolting Children. Erie - The boy who gets his ears stretched out. Nigel Tommy BIG KIDS Bold highschool actors, singers, and movers who are reliable and take direction. Big Kid 1 - Female Big Kid 2 - Female Big Kid 3 - Female Big Kid 4 - Male Big Kid 5 - Male EVERY YOUNG ACTOR ROLE IS DOUBLE CAST 4 Principals 10 Big Kids 16 Classroom Kids 30 Young Actors Total 15 Young Actors Per Cast *Exception: If a Dartmouth E-Term actor is cast as a Big Kid. Matilda Matilda Wormwood is a very special girl. We are looking for girls between ages 10-12, but actors as young as 8 and as old as 14 will be considered. Matilda must be extremely mature and ready to handle carrying an entire 2 % hour production. There is lots of singing, tons of monologues, and even some dancing. The actors playing this part must be willing to prepare with director Eric Love a month before rehearsals officially start. Classroom Kids ‘The Classroom Kids are the heart of this show. Along with Matilda, they thrive under the teachings of Miss Honey and shrivel under the abuse of Miss Trunchbull. There are parts 8 tracks, 4 boys and 4 girls. Most of these characters have featured solo lines. All of them must sing and act at a very high level. Ideal age for these tracks is 10-12 years old, but actors as young as 8 and as old as 14 will be considered. Here at Northern Stage we are very lucky to have actual Big Kids who are highly capable of taking on these roles. I have created tracks 6 tracks for high school actors to shine in this production, 3 tracks for girls and 3 tracks for boys. One of the boy Big Kid tracks will also play Michael Wormwood.
