1. Differentiate the following:


a. DATA AND INFORMATION
Data is the lowest abstract or the rawest form of bits. It is referred as an unorganized facts that need to be processed. While,
Information is a processed data which means it is a data with a meaning.
b. INPUT DEVICES AND OUTPUT DEVICES
Input Device can send data to another device particularly to a computer system for processing, but it cannot receive data from
another device. While, Output Device can receive data from another device and generate output with that data to another
device.
c. WEB AND INTERNET
Web is a way of accessing information over the medium of the internet. It is an information-sharing model that is built on top
of the internet. It uses HTTP protocol to transmit data. While, Internet is a massive network of networks that connects millions
of computers together globally forming a network in which any computer can communicate with any other computer as long as
they both connected to the internet.
d. WIRED AND WIRELESS NETWORK TECHNOLOGIES
Wired network refers to any physical medium consisting of cables. It is used to carry different forms of electrical signals from
one end to another. While, Wireless Network refers to a medium made of electromagnetic waves or infrared waves. It does
not use wires for data or voice communication.
e. MEMORY AND STORAGE
Memory refers to the component within the computer that allows you to access data that is stored for a short term. While,
Storage is the component of the computer that allows you to store and access data on a long term basis.
2. Which type of computer- laptop, tablet or desktop is best to use? Explain.
As a student, the type of computer that best to use is tablet. It is way easier to use than desktop. In terms of its size, you can bring
it anywhere you go, especially for travel and educational purposes. It is probably the biggest reason why I want it. I know all those
types have an access in internet, hence tablet is more accurate to use for students since you can communicate, learn and visualize
things easily. Besides, it is hassle-free and affordable than the others.
3. Explain the purpose of a browser, search engine and online social network.
The general purpose of a browser, search engine and online social network is used for searching information present in the web.
It allows the users to retrieve, present, and traverse information from one place to another. Generally, it stays the users connected
to virtual world to transact and pick up information necessary for entertainment, education, business and etc.
4. Discuss how society uses technology in education, government, finance, retail, entertainment, health care, science, travel and
publishing.
We are living in an era of advanced technology, where every part of our lives is related to science and technology in one
way or another. Technology has a great impact in our society as it improves our method of communication. It eliminates time and
distance as obstacle to effective communication. It is not only beneficial for personal relationship but also to education, business,
government transactions, entertainment and etc. Technology has expanded the access to education. Huge amount of information
are available through the internet which enable us to empower ourselves with knowledge. The way people live have been also
impacted by modern technology. Majority of our appliances in our homes are automated which makes our work easier, organized,
safer and faster. Hospitals today have implemented modern technology and surgical rooms which has significantly reduced the
mistakes made by doctors. The increased accessibility of treatment is one of the amazing ways that technology has changed in
terms of health care. Modern transportation has made it easier for individuals to travel long distances. Many banks have already
made online banking and it is accessible to people anywhere. When you’re busy, online shopping is an easy way to buy what you
need. There is no hassle and no need to go to retail stores.
Over the years, technology has revolutionized our world. Indeed, it created amazing tools and resources putting useful
information at our fingertips. There’s no doubt that advancement of technology has led to so many discoveries, better facilities and
modern lifestyle. Thus. Technology can become the wings that will allow the world to fly farther and faster than ever before.
