Behringer XR18 Update Guide

for use with Windows* 7 / 8 / 8.1 / 10 (06 June 2019)


This firmware update guide is intended for users running Behringer XR18 as an USB-Interface on the
Windows operating platform. Beyond providing basic product maintenance, this update contains a
fix for WDM-issues when switching between sample-rates or interface-modes. To ensure a successful
update, please execute the steps below in order.

(Note: If your product works properly and meets your requirements, these steps are not mandatory –
but highly recommended.)

1. Update XR18 Firmware


a. Download update from Music Tribe website

b. Open the X AIR EDIT Setup/connection page and select your mixer from the list box

(The current firmware version installed on your mixer will be displayed right below the list box)

c. Click on “Update FW”, select the file and click “Open”

d. After the firmware has been installed successfully reboot the mixer

2. Install ASIO-Driver [v4.59]


a. Connect device via USB to your computer

b. Execute setup-application and follow instructions

(Note: Device/computer restart may be required after installation)

3. Update USB Firmware
a. Run application in the “DFU-Folder”

b. Press “Start”

c. Upon successful completion, press “Exit”

(Note: Due to its unique architecture, the firmware running on the USB chip of the XR18 must be
updated via a separate DFU-tool. The DFU tool is always assigned to a single ASIO-driver,
so ensure the respective driver is installed)
