Gamma Probes
The Geovista digital Natural Gamma Ray Sonde can be used on its own or in
combination with other Geovista sondes for correlation purposes.
The spectral gamma version can operate in both spectral and in 5 window mode. The
GM version uses a set of two Geiger-Muller detectors to cater for the high count rates in
uranium ore. The shielded version allows the user to filter out low energy gamma rays in
high grade uranium. This allows for a more linear operation in high gamma count envi-
ronments. The sonde also provides for automatic dead time measurement and
correction. A High resolution LaBr Spectral Gamma probe is also available.

Caliper Sondes
The GeoVista calipers can be used on their own, or in combination
with other GeoVista sondes. In addition to the traditional 3-arms cali-
per, a two-arm caliper is available. This can be coupled with a second
caliper sonde to provide a low cost Four-Arm caliper probe with inde-
pendent arms. Alternatively a single Four-Arm caliper with independ-
ent arms is available for larger boreholes.
The addition of a Geovista Verticality sonde would yield a Borehole
Geometry Log.

Nitrate Sonde
The Geovista Nitrate sonde allows for continuous profile of the Nitrate levels in boreholes to
be recorded. A measurement of the Dissolved Organic Carbon (DOC) is also made as a quali-
ty control as high DOC levels can modify the Nitrate response.
The method of operation does not use electrodes in the borehole water, it uses a sealed
measurement system that uses the attenuation of UV light at specific wavelengths as the prin-
ciple of measurement.

Geovista manufacture and supply a range of robust and durable colour borehole
inspection cameras featuring high resolution and high sensitivity CCD sensors.
All cameras operate on co-axial logging cables and on short lengths of standard
mono-conductor cables that are also suitable for logging.
Dual Camera
The dual view camera provides both axial and 360° infinite
rotating video with real time depth, speed, comments, title,
software controllable functions (editing, zoom, BLC, camera
control…), variable high and low intensity lighting as well as fo-
cusing and rotation speed control.
The camera is designed to be robust and is pressure rated to
150BAR. The added advantage is that you can use the camera
on a geophysical wireline winch—so no need for another cam-
era cable. An optional inclination and deviation sensor can be
added to orientate your downhole video.

Fishing tool
The Side Door Overshot is a fishing
tool that is used to retrieve sondes that
are stuck in a borehole. The advantage of this method is that it does
not require the wireline to be cut. This tool is attached to drill pipe and
lowered downhole. It follows the wireline cable, all the way to the ca-
ble head, or the cable head crossover. The grapple is designed to
catch 28mm.
The assembly consists of the following :
• Grapple half-shells
• A body with a side door slit for the cable
• A 2 3/8” EUE Box Crossover to connect to the fishing string.

Thru-Bit-Logging (TBL)
Log deviated wells and save time and money, Through Bit Log-
ging (TBL) is a memory based logging application whereby
logging tools are conveyed through the diamond bit into an
open hole section that is vacated to accommodate them. At
the same time, the sondes remain attached to the drill string
allowing for the borehole to be logged as drill pipe is being
tripped out .
