TITANIUM DIOXIDE| PRODUCT INFORMATION

A white powder with no discernible taste or odour, Titanium Dioxide is manufactured from a range of raw
materials and in a number of ways. It is most commonly manufactured from Ilmenite, Rutile and Anatase.
The most popular manufacturing processes are usually a combination of conversion or distillation,
followed by a purification process to the required quality grade (Technical, Food, Pharmaceutical etc.).
The powder is mildly soluble and miscible.

Due to this, it is commonly used as a pigment in a wide range of products, ranging from white dyes and
toothpaste through to porcelain. Its whiteness and molecular structure provide it with another major
benefit. Titanium Dioxide is able to absorb UVA and UVB rays. As such it is used commonly in sunscreens
along with any personal care products that require addition sun protection.

There are also a range of other pigments available on the market. There are a vast range of colours and
combinations that can help any product stand out – whether it is a brilliant white or navy blue – dyes and
pigments are a versatile addition to any arsenal of ingredients. They are available for use in food,
pharmaceutical and technical applications upon request and are also generally found in both a liquid and
powder form – giving you true flexibility and to suit your application.

Here at Kilo we stock and supply both Titanium Dioxide and a number of other pigments and colours to a
whole host of customers throughout the UK and Ireland. They trust in us to supply this and many more
products to their sites daily; so should you need any products, or have any questions, please get in touch
