WHAT I THINK ABOUT THE INTERNET
(An interview of Jolina Magdangal by Esther F. Celestre)

The internet is a technology that you can use to easily communicate with anybody around the
world. The internet is now called the network of networks so that even those who are at home can
connect with the internet. Everyone can have access to massive information through the internet.

For me, the internet is a beautiful and exciting medium of communication that a young person like
me in this generation must learn, In the next few years, the youth who have not been exposed to the
internet might be kawawa. So I advise that they use the internet, but moderately and with restrictions.

While I’m a singer-actress, I attend school at AMA Computer Colleges. My teachers are very
considerate with my situation. They allow me not to physically attend class sessions at school. Instead
they send me my lessons and assignments through the internet. In return, I send them my reports,
assignments and projects through the internet.

Through the internet, I learn many things. I can research on topics of my choice. No hassle. I don’t
have to travel and be trapped in traffic.

As an actress, I’ve known many friends through the internet, and I was able to organize fans’ clubs
in places like Bacolod, Batangas and in the United States. I used to call friends through long distance
which is very expensive. Often we’re not able to talk because of conflicts in schedule.

As a young entrepreneur, through the internet, I have to say goodbye to postal mail because
napakabagal ito. It takes at least one week before I could receive replies for my letters to friends and
business associates. With the internet it takes much less time to do that.

You can play games with people on the other side of the world.
You can even buy things on the Internet and have them delivered to your
house!
