Work in pairs. Think about two events you have attended -- one positive experience and one negative
experience. Give one or two sentences about each like in the example below. Make your descriptions
more natural and interesting by using qualifying adverbs such as `a bit', `a little', `slightly', `quite',
`fairly', `very', `really', `extremely'.

I found the party extremely enjoyable. The wedding was a bit dull, to be honest.

4 Practice
Work in pairs. Take turns to select and talk about one of the cue cards below. Try to use vocabulary
from this lesson. Remember, you have 1 minute to take notes and 1-2 minutes for talking.

Describe a recent event. You should say:


- when and where it was
- who was involved

- what happened at the event


And describe how you felt.

Describe a traditional event in your country. You should say:


- when the event is held
- who attends the event
- what people do during this event
And say why the event is important.

Describe a sports event that you took part in or watched. You should say:
- what the event was
- who was competing
- what you did during this competition
and explain how you felt about this event.
