Class: THE 2513 – Dramatic Imagination


Assignment: Photo-Poetic #1
Total Points: 4 pts.
Due Date: September 6th , 1pm (online submission)

Description: The student will choose a professional photograph from the categories discussed
in class. The student will then write a 15-20 line poem/3 paragraph expression of
the subjects and surroundings from a poet’s mind frame, focusing on figurative
language.
Purpose: To develop and exercise figurative language in the description/analysis of a
professional photograph. Using figurative language take practice and intention.
By flexing this part of the brain, the student will be more successful in viewing,
discussing, and critiquing art.
Layout: Please put your name, assignment title, and class on separate lines in the top
left-hand corner of the paper, followed by a self-given titled for the assignment,
centered, on its own line.

Rubric: 1% - Layout
3% - Evidence of critical thinking and figurative language
4% - Total Points
