Resolution Igdalaguit

The Barangay Council of Igdalaguit, Tobias Fornier, Antique passed a resolution allowing the Department of Public Works and Highways to close down a planned flood prevention project involving the construction of a 30-meter river wall if needed for a road widening project. The flood prevention project was previously approved as a priority under the KC-NCDDP national poverty reduction program. The resolution was unanimously approved and certified by the Barangay Council members.

“A RESOLUTION ALLOWING THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS AND HIGHWAYS (DPWH) TO CLOSE
DOWN THE PROPOSED SUB PROJECT OF BARANGAY IGDALAGUIT THROUGH THE KALAHI-CIDSS:
NCDDP WHICH IS THE FLOOD PREVENTION THROUGH A COMMUNITY MANAGED CONSTRUCTION OF
30 Ln. m. RIVERWALL WITH RIP RAP AT BARANGAY IGDALAGUIT, TOBIAS FORNIER, ANTIQUE WHEN
THERE IS A NEED FOR A ROAD WIDENING PROJECT OF THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS AND
HIGHWAYS IN BARANGAY IGDALAGUIT, TOBIAS FORNIER, ANTIQUE.”

WHEREAS, the Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan, Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social
Services, National Community Driven Development Program (KC-NCDDP) is a national poverty reduction
program of the Government, covering Tobias, Fornier as “KC NCDDP DROM Area”;

WHEREAS, Barangay Igdalaguit is one of the priority barangays in the First Cycle of KALAHI-CIDSS:
NCDDP implementation in the Municipality of Tobias Fornier;

WHEREAS, the FLOOD PREVENTION THROUGH A COMMUNITY MANAGED CONSTRUCTION OF


30 Ln. m. RIVERWALL WITH RIP RAP AT THE BARANGAY IGDALAGUIT was the prioritized project of
BARANGAY IGDALAGUIT during the conduct of the 1 st BA with residents, community volunteers and
councils and it was approved by the Barangay Assembly;

WHEREAS, the proposed Subproject is the confirmed priority need of BARANGAY IGDALAGUIT
during the conduct of the Municipal Forum;

WHEREAS, the proposed Subproject could alleviate poverty could benefit the community on
health issues by breathing a clean air as the water flows through the nearby river;

WHEREAS, this project can help reduce the disaster vulnerability and similarly give the
community a sense of security during calamities;
WHEREAS, the proposed Subproject can provide employment to the community during its
implementation;

NOW THEREFORE, on motion of Barangay Kagawad Michaelangelo O. Febrero and duly


seconded by Barangay Kagawad Celso N. Pelingon; be it-

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, approving to allow the Department of Public Work and
Highways to close down the proposed Sub-project of Barangay Igdalaguit which is a COMMUNITY
MANAGED CONSTRUCTION OF 30 Ln. M RIVER WALL WITH RIP RAP when there is a need for a road
widening in Barangay Igdalaguit, Tobias Fornier, Antique;

RESOLVED FURTHER, that copies of this resolution be furnished to all authorities concerned for
their information and appropriate action.

APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY.

I hereby certify to the correctness of the above quoted resolution which was duly adopted by the
Barangay Council during the meeting held on November 18, 2015.
