Have course objectives been defined and agreed with the training sponsor? ■ ■
Is the course content known and understood by the trainer? ■ ■
Does the course content meet the course objectives? ■ ■
Has the course content been checked for accuracy and is it up to date? ■ ■
Does the course cater for a variety of learning styles? ■ ■
Is the course inclusive and does it meet diversity requirements? ■ ■
Is the time allowed for the course sufficient for the content to be delivered? ■ ■
Are sufficient breaks for students built into the planned delivery? ■ ■
2. Venue and Communication
Is the location suitable and accessible for students? ■ ■
Is the room booked of an appropriate size for the number of students and group work? ■ ■
Does the room layout meet course delivery requirements? ■ ■
Is the venue booked to include time for setting up and clearing up? ■ ■
Have venue arrangements been agreed for parking, access, security requirements, refreshments, smoking,
emergency procedures and toilet facilities? ■ ■
Have the venue and course details been sent to students with call-up papers? ■ ■
Have students been requested to notify any special needs or equipment required? ■ ■
Have all notified special needs been arranged? ■ ■
3. Resources Required for Training Delivery
Ensure you have prepared the required resources, for example:

■ Presentation aids – projector, laptop, whiteboard, flipchart, pens, note paper. ■ ■

Have you planned an early arrival to ensure you can:
■ Gain familiarity with the venue. ■ ■
■ Get contact details for assistance whilst on site. ■ ■
■ Find out about emergency procedures. ■ ■
■ Check the room layout. ■ ■
■ Set up and test equipment. ■ ■
■ Ensure any necessary refreshments are available. ■ ■
■ Greet students who arrive early. ■ ■
