Sample Outbound Telemarketing Follow-Up Script

Cross-Selling Auto to Current Home Customers

“Good morning/afternoon <<customer name>>.”

“This is <<agent name>> calling from the <<agency name>>. How are you today?
<<Customer name>> as you know, <<agency name>> insures your home located at
<< home address>>. I’m actually following up on some recent information I sent to
ensure your insurance needs and discounts are all up to date. Have you had a chance to
read through the information?”

IF NO

“No problem <<customer name>>, from time to time I like to check in with my clients
to make sure your insurance coverage meets your needs. And I’m always on the lookout
for ways to save you money. In reviewing your homeowner’s policy information, can you
tell me whether you’ve made any major improvements to your home recently?” (IF YES –
work on a new quote for home and include multi-policy discount amount if auto was
added) (IF NO, continue with script)

“Great, sounds like you have a great home. I also noticed that <<agency name>> does
not currently insure your vehicles. You know, you could be eligible for a multi-policy
discount if you combined your Home and Auto policies with Safeco Insurance. In fact,
you could save as much as 15%. I’m going to work up a quick auto quote to see if I can
save you even more.”

LAUNCH AUTO QUOTE

IF YES

“Great, then I’m sure you know that from time to time I like to check in with my clients to
make sure your insurance coverage meets your needs. And I’m always on the lookout
