Technical interview

Students were assessed on the basis of their resume. They were divided into 3 panels based on the assessment - Design, TQM, PLM.

Design panel - Students with design projects in their resume were sent to this panel

1. Explain stress strain curve

5. Draw the free body diagram of a differential spider gear.

6. What is the condition for maximum torque transfer?

9. Suggest ways by which we can improve the efficiency of an IC engine.

10. How to design a parametric model of a football where the user will input a single side of the hexagon and the output will

13. Questions on O2 sensor, spark sensor and cam sensor

14. About body- why we do electrolyte coating on body. Which type of welding is preferred in body panels and why

PID Control algorithm for EEE students

Total Quality Management panel – Students with manufacturing projects in their resume were sent to this panel

1. Explain the principles of TQM

2. What is process capability, process stability, break even analysis?


3. Cast iron vs steel - Properties

4. On what parameters will you evaluate 2 materials?

5. Explain ductility, malleability

6. How will you rate a supplier?

7. What do you think about quality dept?

8. What will you do if you have shortage of manpower?”, “what will you do if certain machine stopped working?

Product Lifecycle Management panel – Students with more managerial activities on resume (like organizing Techfest, cultural
meet) were sent to this panel

1. What do you know about PLM?

2. PLM is not in your syllabus, how do think you will cope up?

3. Explain about product design and development?

4. Explain the working of any automobile sub assembly. (engine, braking etc)

5. What is the first thing you note while looking at an automobile?

6. How many components are present in a car?

7. What are the regulations you have for Exterior plastic parts.

8. PLM is not a core dept, It’s a support dept. Will you still be interested to work for it?

9. What do you know about electric vehicles and the components involved?
