PBLworks Journey Red Planet

This project asks students in grades 3-5 to explore how humans can safely explore Mars. Students will learn about the history of space travel and conditions on Mars. They will use an engineering design process to identify problems related to exploring Mars and develop inventions to solve those problems. Finally, students will create prototypes of their inventions and present them to aerospace engineers or investors. The project aligns with standards about defining engineering problems, generating solutions, and supporting arguments with evidence about plant and animal structures. It also incorporates literacy standards about writing informative texts and presenting ideas.
