This document outlines the extension of a compassionate employment assistance scheme for dependents of missing government servants in the state. The scheme was originally introduced in 1972 to provide relief to families of deceased civil servants. It has now been expanded to also help dependents of government employees declared legally dead after going missing. For missing employees, dependents must apply within 3 years of a court declaring the employee dead due to their disappearance. Other existing rules for compassionate appointments will also apply to dependents of the missing. This aims to financially assist families of missing officials who are facing hardship, similar to families of deceased servants.
