Single phase EMF generation, Effective & Average values of sinusoids and determination of form-factor, Analysis
of simple series & parallel R-L, R-C and RLC circuits, power and power factor, series & parallel resonances.
Unit –III
Three phase EMF generation, Delta and star connection, line and phase quantities and relations in star and delta
connection, phasor diagram. Solutions of 3 phase circuits – balanced and unbalanced load, Measurement of
single phase and three phase power.
Unit –IV
Analogy between electrical and magnetic circuits, solutions of magnetic circuits. Constructional details, principle
of transformer operation , EMF equation, Phasor diagram on no load and full load, Equivalent circuits, Open
