Spin-On Filter Impulse Testing

This document provides work instructions for performing an impulse test on filters according to ISO 4548-5:2013. It lists the required apparatus as an impulse test machine. It specifies using lubrication oil of ISO VG100/SAE 30 or ISO VG 150/SAE 40. The testing procedure involves fitting the filter, increasing oil pressure, starting temperature control and a timer, setting pulse counts on a counter, allowing the test to continue until failure occurs or cycles are completed, then examining the filter for failure.
