DAILY LESSON LOG in Math 7

Quarter 3, Week ____
Date: ______

I-OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standards The learner demonstrates understanding of key concepts of
algebraic expressions, the properties of real numbers as
applied in linear equations, and inequalities in one variable.
B. Performance Standard The learner is able to model situations using oral, written,
graphical, and algebraic methods in solving problems involving
algebraic expressions, linear equations, and inequalities in one
variable.
C. Learning Competency/ies The learner finds the solution of linear equation or inequality in
one variable.
a. To find the solution of linear equation and inequality in
one variable by guess and check.
II-CONTENT LINEAR EQUATIONS AND INEQUALITIES
III- LEARNING RESOURCES
A. References
1. Teacher’s Guide
2. Learner’s Materials Math LM Quarter 3 pp. 1 - 6
3. Additional Materials from NFE Accreditation and Equivalency Learning Material:
learning Resources(LR) portals: Equations (Part 1). 2001.13 – 14
DLM 1 – Unit 5: First Degree Equations and Inequalities in One
Variable
B. Other Learning Resources3 Elementary Algebra. 2002
p. 120 – 125
C. Values Integration Contentment
IV- PROCEDURES
A. Reviewing previous lesson or Board Work
presenting the new lesson Evaluate each expression under Column A if 𝑥 = 2. Match
it to its value under Column B.
Column A Column B
1. 3 + 𝑥 -5
2. 𝑥 − 1 4
3. 3𝑥 − 2 1
4. 2𝑥 − 9 5
𝑥
5. 2 + 3 -4

B. Establishing a purpose for the MATHGIC YOUR AGE 2019

lesson 1. Choose a number from 1 to 9.
2. Multiply your chosen number by 2.
3. Add 5 to the resulting number.
4. Multiply the result by 50.
5. If you’ve already have your birthday this year add 1769,
if not add 1768.
6. Now, subtract the year of your birth.

Note: The resulting number is a three-digit number where

the first figure is your chosen number and the other two is your
age.
C. Presenting illustrative Let the learner watch a video clip given the link below.
examples/instances of the lesson
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OeXpZfw0PsA
D. Discussing the new concepts Group the learner with 5 learners each group. They will
and practicing new skills#1 answer the given activity in 6 minutes. Then, one of them will
present their output.
Given the replacement set {−3, −2, −1,0,1,2,3}, determine
the solution/s for the following equations and inequalities.
1. 𝑥 + 8 < 10
2. 2𝑥 + 4 = 3
3. 𝑥 − 5 > −3

E. Discussing the new concepts Each group will share their answer of the following
and practicing new skills#2 questions to the class.
1. How did you find the value of x?
2. Did you encounter any difficulty in finding the solution/s?
3. What concept did you apply in finding the solution/s?
F. Developing mastery(Leads to Group Work: After 5 minutes the group’s output will be
formative assessment) posted on their assigned areas. Then, one member of the
group will be assigned to check the output of the other group.
Solve for the value of x to make the mathematical sentence
true. You may try several values for x until you reach a correct
solution.
1. 𝑥 − 4 ≤ 11
2. 𝑥 + 6 = −2
3. 3 = 4 + 𝑥
4. −3 + 𝑥 > 1
G. Making generalizations and The learners will answer the following questions
abstractions about the lesson comprehensively.
1. How many solution/s does a linear equation in one
variable have? Linear inequality in one variable? Why?
2. Was it easy to find the solution/s using guess and
check? Why?

H. Finding Practical applications Just as it is important to simplify equations, it is also

of concepts and skills in daily living important to simplify our lives. What is meant by a simple life?
Reflect on these words from La Roche Foucald:
“Few things are needful to make the wise man happy, but
nothing satisfies the fool—and this is why so many of mankind
are miserable.”
I. Evaluation of Learning Use guess and check in finding the solution/s of the
following mathematical sentence.
1. 𝑥 − 4 > 6
2. 2𝑦 + 5 = −1
J. Additional activities for Find the solution of 3𝑥 − 1 = 14 using guess and check.
application or remediation
V. REMARKS
VI. REFLECTION
A. No. of learners who B. No. of learners who C. Did the remedial D. No. of learners who
earned 80% in the scored below 80% who lessons work? No. of continue to require
evaluation: ________ needs additional learners who have remediation:
activities for caught up with the _________
remediation: _______ lesson: ______

E. Which of my teaching strategy/ies worked well? Why did these work?

F. What difficulties did I encounter with my principal or superior can help me solve?
