Hindi na bago sa ating mga Pilipino ang Droga.

Ito’y isang hindi mamatay matay na isyung


panlipunan ng ating bansa. Problema na ito sa mga nag daang administrasyon, dahil ito ang
pinaniniwalaang puno’t dulo ng mga krimen. Tinutututukan ngayon ng kasalukuyang
administrasyon ang kampanya laban sa iligal na droga sa bansa. Dahil sa maigting na kampanya
maraming pangalan ng personalidad ang nadadawit kasabay nito ay ang pagdami ng mga
napapatay na mga hinihinalang drug addicts. Bunga nito ay ang pagkabahala ng mga taga CHR
(commission on human rights) dahil nawawala na daw ang ating karapatan bilang tao.

“This is why the illegal drugs war will not be sidelined. Instead, it will be as relentless and
chilling, if you will, as on the day it began. These drug dealers know fully well that their
business is against the law. They know the consequences of their criminal acts, especially when
caught in flagrante delicto and they violently resist arrest. They know that illegal drugs waste
away lives, dysfunctionalize families, and ruin relationships. They know that once hooked,
addicts will die slowly – slow deaths. And yet, they persist in doing what they do, oblivious to
the terrible harm that they cause to the people and communities.”

”If you think that I can be dissuaded from continuing this fight because of [your]
demonstrations, your protests, which I find, by the way, misdirected, then you got it all wrong.”
[applause]

“Your concern is human rights, mine is human lives. [applause] The lives of our youth are
being wasted and families are destroyed, and all because of the chemicals called shabu, cocaine,
cannabis, and heroine.”

“Human rights to me means giving Filipinos, especially those at the society’s fringes, a
decent and dignified future through the social and physical infrastructures necessary to better
their lives. The lives and freedoms and the hard-earned property of every Filipino whose
condition we wish to improve shall be protected from criminals, terrorists, corrupt officials, and
traffickers [of] contrabands.”
Tunay nga na ang ika-3 na State of the Nation Address ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ay
masasabing sistematiko ang pagkakaayos nito. Kapansin pansing rin na napigilan niya ang
kaniyang pagsasabi ng mga di ka aya ayang mga salita. Ang kaniyang talumpati ay naglalaman
ng mga iba’t ibang isyu na kinahaharap ng ating bansa sa kasalukuyan nabanggit din niya ang
mga plano at adhikain ng naturang administrasyon. Isa sa pinaka aabangan ko ay ang kaniyang
mapupuna tungkol sa laganap pa rin na pagdami ng mga users at pusher ng droga sa Pilipinas.

Kung ating babalikan higit tatlong taon na ang nakalipas, Isa sa mga pangako niya sa
kaniyang plataporma na ang bansang ito ay magiging malaya sa droga sa loob lamang ng anim
na buwan. Ngunit sa kasalukuyan parang taliwas ang mga nangyayari sa mga pinangako niya
noon. Kahit ganoon pa man patuloy pa rin ang iba’t ibang pamamaraan na pinaniniwalaan
niyang epektibo tulad na laman ng tokhang.
