1. How to Generate Commencement of Work Notice?

1.1. Visit https://www.erc.go.ke

1.2. Click on the Online Services Portal. (see Fig 1)

1.3. Sign in to the portal using your Electrical Contractor login credentials (see Fig 2).

1.4. Go to the License Management drop-down menu and select Completion Certificate tab (See Fig
3).

1.5. Click on the New Notice tab (See Fig 4)

1.6. Fill in the Commencement of Work Notice form and click on Save Data tab (See Fig 5)

1.7. Confirm the accuracy of the captured data and click on the Submit Data tab (See Fig 6). Note
that you will no longer have the edit capability once you have submitted the data.

1.8. To view the submitted data for the Commencement of Work Notice, click the Commencement of
Work Notice tab (See Fig 7)

1.9. To print out the Commencement of Work Notice, click on the Print Commencement Notice tab (see
Fig 8). Refer to Annex 1 for a Sample Commencement of Work Notice.

2. How to Enter Installation Test Results and Generate a Completion Certificate(s)

2.1. To generate a Completion Certificate, start at step 1.8 above (Fig.7 Generate Completion
Certificate Tab).
2.2. Click on Generate Completion Certificate tab (See Fig 9)

2.3. Click Add Installation Site tab to capture installation site(s) and their details (See Fig 10). Note
that one Commencement of Work Notice can have multiple Completion Certificates equivalent to the
number of installation sites

2.4. Enter and Submit the installation details (see Fig 11). Note that at least one electrician licence
must be selected by checking the tick box - failure to do so will return an error. Note – an email
will be send to the selected Electrician notifying him/her about the generation of the Completion
Certificate.

2.5. Repeat steps 2.3 and 2.4 to add more installation site(s) as declared/indicated in the Commencement
of Work Notice.
2.6. Click on Enter Test Results link to capture Installation Test Results (see Fig 12)

2.7. Enter Installation Test Results then click Submit (See Fig 13)

2.8. Repeat steps 2.6 and 2.7 for all the other installation sites.

2.9. Click on Print Completion Certificate tab to view and/or print the Completion Certificate (see Fig

14). Refer to Annex 2 for a Sample Completion Certificate.

2.10. Repeat Step 2.9 for all the other installation sites.
