IRIS MANUAL

1. File Menu :

1. Intraday Data Manager

This is the menu used to start the IRIS application. Let us go step by step and see how to start
the application.

Dayss: - Here the user has to specify how many days of Intra Day Data to be loaded
A. History Day
for an Exchange. This has to be specified before clicking on connect. After connecting we can
not add or delete the number of Intraday history. To change intraday history we have to Exit
the software. If we don’t have intraday history then first we have to download files from server
after so that we can see the intraday history.
Start]] or [Current]
B. Data from [Start [Current]:- When the user clicks on Connect, if Open is selected, the
data will start from the beginning of the Market or from the time the user has stopped using
during the market. And recover it within some minutes and software also completes intraday
file. If Current is selected the data will start from the current time. Hence leading to breakups in
intraday file. When we connect from open there is no need to download intraday file if we are
connecting till 3:30PM.

C. Server
Server: -Here we can select any of the servers for receiving the intraday live data.

D. Connect
Connect: - When the user clicks on Connect, the Intraday History files are loaded first and
then the Current day's data is loaded. The window get closed when the files are loaded. If the
window does not close then we have to check internet and then reconnect software.

E. Use proxy servers


servers: - If we are using proxy server then check on use sock5 proxy server then
give proxy IP and port no to connect the software.

� Intraday data manager window allows you to connect all Exchange at one place.
NSE Cash, NSE Derivative, MCX, BSE Cash

� Data connecting process has become faster with this feature.

� Status will now notify us when internet connectivity is lost.


'Manage Files' Tab -

A. Recover Todays FileFile: - Data received is in the form of packets any internet snag leads to
corrupt packets hence data stops being received at that time we recover an intraday record.
This is the first Button inside 'Manage Files' tab.

B. Delete today intraday)) file
file:- This option is used to delete corrupt intraday file. When we
open 'Manage Files' tab inside Intraday Data Manager, we can see this under 'Recover Todays
File' Button

C. Delete PrevDay's File :- This option is used to delete corrupt Yesterday's file.

When we open 'Manage Files' tab inside Intraday Data Manager, we can see this under 'Delete
Todays File' Button. After connect the software we can’t chose this option.

D. Convert D5 to D7 :- This function converts D5 files to D7 files.

2. Action Replay:

This option is used to see the movement of the market after market hours. When we click on
action replay the following window displays. The prerequisite for action replay is .nd4 file of the
date for which the action replay is to be run. If it is the current date then it is available in the iris
folder if it is of previous date then we have to look it in oldd4files folder.

Load History Data for : - Here we have to mention the number of days we have to take as
intraday history.

OR

Load History Data from :- If we want to see the intraday history from specific data date.

Replay Data of : Here we have to mention the date of which we want to run the action replay.
Note: - Before starting we have to ensure that the intraday file is available in the uncompressed
format.

Replay Speed : - This option is used to increase the speed of replay by seconds but initially
while starting us should start it with the default speed that is one second.
Start : - Clicking on this button starts the action replay and a new radio button appears which is
used to suspend the replay and resume the replay.

3. DDELink

This option is used to link live data from the software to an excel sheet and it gives the real time
data. For creating the link we have to first go to price watch and right click on it here we get an
option for creating a dde link which gets saved in user folder. Then open the user folder -there
will be a file named- SpiderDDE_IrisPlus.CSV
SpiderDDE_IrisPlus.CSV. Then open that CSV and save as into Microsoft
Excel 1997-2003.xls . And then we have to click on DDE link from software. Real Time data will
update in Excel file.

4. Download Files

As we know that files are required to be


downloaded on daily basis this can be done
through download option. On clicking the
download option we get the following display.

Here, we can select any of the servers for


receiving the intraday live data along with the
Data Type ('End Of the Day' data or 'Intraday'
data). Then Click on 'Get Filelist' to retrieve the
list of updated data.

We can select the required files from a list of


displayed files. For multiple selections we have
ctrl
to use the “ctrl
ctrl” key, and then click on download
and the selected files will be downloaded.
5. Update Daily data :- This option is used when we do not get an option of import after
downloading daily file hence clicking on update daily data will give the importing option.

6. Quote ENTRY :- This option is used to correct the spikes formed in charts on a particular day
the data is matched between two exchanges and can be corrected.

7. Groups :- This option is used to create new group of scrip


based upon the requirement of the client. Groups
can be created removed, modified, renamed .

Create group:

If we click on create group it will ask for name


that we have to create. Type the name and click
on Ok then Modifying window will open.

Then type the Exch -


B for BSE,
N for NSE,
D for Derivative,
F for NSE Futures,
Z for MCX,
Y for NCDEX,
I for world Indices,
U for international Currencies,
J for NSE FX,
K for MCX FX.
Then type the name of scrip in Code box and select the scrip and click on add to group. Do the
same procedure for adding other scrips and then click on save changes. Here we don't have
close button so you can click on Discard Changes. This groups you can view by clicking G on
chart and select 'User Defined Groups '.

8. minimize iris :- This option is used to minimize the software.

9. Internet browser :- This option helps to surf the net without minimizing the software.

10. Help :- This option contains note pad files which contains shortcut keys, new add-ons, query
variables used in the software, manual, and error log file for the software

11. user information :- This contains the user’s detail like name, address, etc.

12. About :- This option gives us information about the client code, UCC and nodes if any.

13. Exit :- This option is for exiting the software.

2. Chart menu
Chart menu will help to open new charts or new group.

1. New - By Name :- This option will


help us to open new charts when we
chose this option this will provide us a
selection menu. Select an Exchange like
(NSE cash, BSE cash, future, option, word
market, commodity, currency Etc. Then
write scrip’s starting two or three word
then select which scrip we want to open.
This scrip will always open in bars, no
zooming, and on daily period.

Note: - When we use this option to open


a chart a new chart window opens
without any study.
2. New From Group :- This option will help us to open a group. The group we are opening this
can be predefine or user define with the help of this menu we can see all group stocks by
pressing the up and down arrow key. The groups created by user can be opened with the help
of this menu. NOTE:-If we don’t want to press up and down arrow key. We can set auto scrip,
its short cut is 'Ctrl + A'.

3. New from Nse deriv :- This option will help us to open new charts from derivative. when we
chose this option this will provide us a selection menu. Select underlying. And then select
Instrument Type like Futures or call or Put then select Expiry and then select contract wise or
continuous wise .This scrip will always open in daily period, no zooming. In case if you select
Call then it will again ask for strike Price.

4. Load Chart :- After saving a chart this option helps us to load save chart. In a chart we can
save only one scrip on one time.

5. Save screen: - If we want to save more then one scrip on one screen then select option save
screen. When we are going to save screen we can make 10 short cuts. When we are going to
save screen give the name scr 0 to 9 name like as ( scr 0 xyz) this will make a short cut ctrl 0.

6. Load Screen: - After save 10 screens we can not make short cut after that we have to save
with a name and use the option load screen.

7. Clear Screen: - To clear all screen we can use this option.

8. Tile Charts: - This option will help us for tiling charts. Firstly open the chart with the help of
new by name then select this option to tile all scripts. This will give default size. If we don’t
want to give default size we can drag and drop chart according to we.
9. CHARTS - Point & Fig, Kagi, Renko, Darvas Box Chart

It will allow us to analyze historical chart of selected script with new chart types’ feature.
10. DAILY COMPARATIVE CHART:-

Here we can compare two scrips or one scrip with one group. We can choose date which we
want.

11. INTRADAY COMPRATIVE CHART:: - Through this option we can compare scrip with
INDEX .Max scrip we can compare is 20 but as a line and separated with colours. Through this
option we can watch which scrip those are performing outperform as compare to INDEX.
Intraday comparative chart option only available in (IRIS AND CTCL). This updates
automatically .you can update manual through right click on intraday comparative chart.

12. INTRADAY OPEN INTEREST CHART:- Multi exchange software will allow us to analyze
intraday open interest chart for MCX and with this feature we can analyze price and open
interest in one single window.
3. REPORTS MENU

1. PRICE WATCH: - Price watch will provide us live rates all securities as Neat or Odin. Price
Watch displays the prices for any Predefined, Industrial and User-Defined Group. The prices are
displayed in different colors. The window can be re-sized or maximized anyway the user wants.
We can open 4 Price Watches.

Change the Order of the Columns:- We can drag and drop title like as Current, Pclose, High,
Low, bid , offer etc), the columns can easily be moved from its default position and kept where
the user wants it to be displayed.

2. DERIVATIVE WATCH

It is similar to price watch and we can get implied volatility, Delta,Theta etc . It is specially
meant for options.
3. MARKET SUMMARY :-

This options helps us to fetch top traded, best, worst, New High and New Low stocks. Its
shortcut key is ‘F8’ the options are described
below:-

Top Traded :- The stocks traded with high


values in terms of rupees are found in this
option, the value is in Lakhs.

Best :- The stocks which have higher


percentage change are given in this option.

Worst :- The stocks which have lower


percentage change are given in this option.

New High :- The stocks which are making new


52 week highs are available in this option.

New Low :- The stocks which are making new


52 week lows are available in this option.

All Time High :- The stocks which are making


new all time highs are available in this option.

All time Low :- The stocks which are making


new all time lows are available in this option.

Settings
ettings:- Here we can mention some options according to our needs or requirement which is
discussed below :-

Max Scrips
Scrips: - This option helps us to filter out the search of the market summary according to
our preference that is if we want more than
20scrips in the summary we can do so by
increasing the max scrips option it can be
increased up to 99.
Refresh (Secs) :- This option helps to change the refreshing seconds the default is 60 seconds.

Filter out if
if: - This option helps us to filter out scrips by rate quantity and trades.

Save to Group
Group: - This option helps us to save the scrips of the market summary in user defined
groups.

Change Font
Font: - Change the font size as your needs

4. Intraday Ticklist

This option gives us five values that is Time, Rate, Quantity, Buying (B) or Selling (S) and
Cumulative quantity tick by tick. Its shortcut key is “F9”. And want to open another Intraday
Tick List 2 then press Shift+F9
5. Quote Listing

This option gives us a report of Date, Open, High, Low, Close, Value, Trades of the period
depending upon the chart opened. If it’s a daily chart then it gives the detail from the
beginning of the day that is day of listing. The beginning of the daily data in our software is
from August 1994. Suppose we open an intraday chart the values will be according to the
minutes of the bar or candle if we click on Zero seconds it will show us only the close price
not the high low and open rest values will be there. In case of intraday charts the quote
listing will be for the period taken as intraday history.

6. Volume Distribution

This option gives us the detail of ‘Buy Qty ‘and


‘Sell Qty’ of scrip at the entire price it has been
during the trading session. It gives us the
following details Rate, Total, Buy, and Sell Qty.
Its shortcut key is ‘F11’.
7. Scrip Summary

The above option provides some vital information which is described below: -

All Time High: - All time high rate which made by this
particular security.

All Time Low: - All time low rate which made by this
particular security.

52Week High: - 52 Week high rate of that particular


security

52Week Low: - 52 Week low rate of that particular security

Open: - Today’s opening of that particular security.

High: - High of the day at that time when we will open


market summary.

Low: - Low of the day at that time when we will open


market summary.

Current: - Current rate of that particular security.

Quantity: - How many quantities have been traded.

Turnover: - Total turnover of that stock in LK.

Ticks: - Total trades which have been done in that stock.

Prev Close: - Pervious day close.

%Change: - Difference between Pervious close and current rate in %.It will be negative or
positive.

Tick Average: - This is the average value of ticks.

Buy Qty: - That’s qty have been buy.

Sell Qty: - That’s qty have been sell.

8. BHAV COPY: - A-BSE All Scrips


Scrips:- This option give us a report of all Bse Scrip, Date, Price ( Open,
High, Low & Close), Qty, Value, Trades on the last traded that may be the same day or before.

BSE-Scrips Traded on (Date):


(Date):- This option give us a report of Bse Scrip, Date, Price ( Open, High,
Low & Close), Qty, Value, Trades traded on the mentioned date that may be the same day or
before.

NSE-All Scrips
Scrips:- This option give us a report of all Nse Scrip, Date, Price ( Open, High, Low &
Close), Qty, Value, Trades on the last traded that may be the same day or before.

NSE- Scrips Traded on (Date):


(Date):- This option give us a report of Nse Scrip, Date, Price ( Open, High,
Low & Close), Qty, Value, Trades traded on the mentioned date that may be the same day or
before.

Intraday: - This option gives us a report of NSE or Bse Scrip, Time, Price (Open, High, and Low &
Close), Qty, Value, Trades traded at the time given. It gives the intraday details at that instance.

Select Group
Group: - Here we take a group of stocks for getting the above mentioned details not all
scrips..
NSE-All Time High/Low Scrips
Scrips: - Here we get the details of NSE scrip which are at their all time
high/low or within a particular range in % for Whole NSE or Any Group; this can be selected
through the options shown above. The details we get in this report are exchange, code, scrip,
rate, H/L, Prev H/L date.

BSE- All Time High/Low Scrips


Scrips: - Here we get the details of Bse scrip which are at their all time
high/low or within a particular range in % for BSE or Any Group; this can be selected through
the options shown above. The details we get in this report are exchange, code, scrip, rate, H/L,
Prev H/L date.

NSE-52 Week High/Low Scrips


Scrips: - Here we get the details of NSE scrips which are at their
52week high/low or within a particular range in % For NSE or any Group; this can be selected
through the options shown above. The details we get in this report are exchange, code, scrip,
rate, H/L, Prev H/L date.

BSE-52 Week High/Low Scrips Scrips: - Here we get the details of NSE scrips which are at their
52week high/low or within a particular range in %; For whole BSE or any Group this can be
selected through the options shown above. The details we get in this report are exchange, code,
scrip, rate, H/L, Prev H/L date.
In report there is an option Save to

Here the option Save High Scrips to Group ---Create a group of scrips who creates new High

And

The option Save Low Scrips to Group--- Create a group of scrips who creates new low.

9. PORTFOLIO MANAGER

Portfolio Manager: - This option will help us to manage our trading account. Just type an entry
with all information like that share name, buy price, sell price, date after that software will
calculate all over information and it will provide us some reports like that current holding, profit
loss, IT report, trades done.
Follow one buy one options.

Option :-

1. New portfolio: - This option will help us to


create a new portfolio.

2. Load portfolio: - We can load a previously saved


portfolio.

3. Save portfolio: - Firstly add your all trades then


you can save your all trade as one portfolio. This
option will help us to save it. The default paths
will iris/portfolio .From this folder we can
backup these portfolio.

4. Add trade: - This option will help us to add an


entry like as Exchange name, Stock name, Date,
Rate, Qty, Buy or Sell, Time, Tag (Any Broker name or account holder name), Brokerage.
Then ok.This trade detail will save only temporary if you will not save it. You will loss
these details.

5. Modify trade detail: - If we want to modify the pervious trade details select that trade
and select this option to modify the details.

6. Remove selected trade: - If you want to remove any pervious trade details then through
this option we can remove selected trade.

7. Merge Portfolio: - This option will help us to merge two portfolios and save it to
different name.

8. Split Portfolio on tag: - Through this option we can differentiate trades on the behalf of
tag (broker name or account holder name).Firstly save your portfolio then load it and
use this option to differentiate trades. The default destinations will iris/PFCsv.

9. Print Report: - This option will help us to take print direct those reports which already
save.

10. Help: - To take any help regarding Portfolio Manager or any option you can select this
option.
Reports :-

1. Trades done: - This option will help us to generate a report about you trade
which you have complete buy and sell means complete trade.

2. Profit loss: - Through this option we can generate a report of your all profit or
loss. It will compare intraday rate when you are opening the report. NOTE:-To
generate this report you date format should mm: dd: yyyy.

3. Current Holding: - Through this option we can generate our current holding
report at that time when you are generating report.

4. Tagwise P/L Report :- Through this option we


can generate a tag-wise report of your all profit or
loss. It will compare intraday rate when you are
opening the report.
5. IT Report: - this option will help us For IT reporting purposes, it is necessary to
separate trades as speculative, short term and long term for generation of P/L
report.

6. Create Group – All scrip in Portfolio


Portfolio: - We can create a group with the help of this
option. And we can apply this group anywhere in the software. This group will
include all scrip in your portfolio.

7. Create Group – Current holding Scrips


Scrips: - We can create a group with the help of
this option. And we can apply this group anywhere in the software. This group will
include current holding scrips.
10. REPORT DESIGNER

REPORT DESIGNER
DESIGNER: - This option will help us to generate any report you want like that support
resistance level, gainer losers, performance etc means if you want to generate a report on value
base you have to use report designer. You can also filter with below mention filter condition
like as rate, qty, trades etc. You can run report on your personal group. Here is one option
Adjust Corp Action means which values we are seeing also adjust on Corp action. And report
offset means report will run before that period. We can modify any condition also add new
Columns. We can save our modifications.

If you want to run any reports firstly load it and select your group then select run tab. Then you
will found a report which you can save or
print.

11. SHOW PREVIOUS REPORT

Through this option we can open our pervious


generate one report if we closed any report
so it will backup our one report.
12. PIVOT CALCULATOR

This calculator will help us to calculate average value, and four resistance and four support
levels. When we open this calculator it will give us default value of the chart which we had
opened and it will take the values like high, low and close of the last bar and give us four
support and resistance. We can calculate current bars support and resistance using high, low,
close value of previous bar in Intraday charts.

Create Group

Auto Create Option Groups

File > Groups > Create Option Groups

Creates Separate Groups for Calls and Puts,

Automatically Creates group of Call & Put of first 3 expiries.


13. Index Pullers And Draggers

Find out which stocks are taking the market Up/Down today.

Today’s Market pullers and draggers tell you that based on the stock’s weightage in the Index
calculation which stocks are moving the market today.

This feature gives an quick insight of the current market position and how the heavy weights of
the markets are placed.
14. All Indices-NSE :-

All Indices -NSE :- It provides value of all the Indices of NSE and % of its change .It Give
Complete idea of NSE Indices and its prices

15. Pay-Off Calculator :-

Select Underlying.

Shows Lowest Near Month Call Strike and difference between Strikes.

Change Lower Strike Rate to near current price Strike (eg nifty = 8300)

and click 'Set Strikes'. 10 Strikes are shown in grid heading.

Note : Once 'Set Strikes' is done, then Underlying cannot be changed,

but 'Set Strikes' can be changed any number of times.

To change underlying, do 'Save To File' and then 'Clear ALL' or 'Load from File'

Enter Qty and Rate and do 'Add Equity Trade' or 'Add Deriv Trade'.

Enter QTY in NEGATIVE for Sell and POSITIVE for Buy.

For Equity, scrip code is automatically taken.

For Deriv, scrip selection window will be shown.

As trade is added, M2M and Pay-Off at different Target Prices are shown.
Add records for Equity, Future, Call and Put on both buy/sell sides.

If rate or qty is wrong or want to do what-if scenario,

select a row, type new rate/qty and use 'Update Rate/Qty' button.

If Insert check box is ON,

then new trade or blank will be inserted at current row else will be added to

Bottom.

Save To XLS' saves complete grid info,

while 'Save To file' will save only relevant fields of grid, so that it can be

recreated using 'Load From File'

16. Derivative Summery Report :-

Derivative Summery Report :-Key F5 is a shortcut key for derivative summery


report .Derivatives Reports like Open Interest, Premium Reports etc. provide a Derivative trader
the edge over the market.All reports are easy to generate and understand and helps the trader
to save time during the live trading session.

17. Derivative Open Interest Report :-

Automatically shows the list of stocks in Derivative where it

matches the Open Interest filter conditions. This allows the user to find out the best possible
contracts at a click of a button.
18. Future Coc All Expiries Report

CARRY”” : The cost of carry is the cost of "carrying" or holding a position. The
Term “COST OF CARRY
cost of carry generally refers to the risk-free interest rate that could be earned by investing
currency in a theoretically safe investment

The Futures Price = Spot Price + Cost of Carry

In general, the Futures price is greater than the spot price. In special cases, when cost of carry is
negative, the Futures price may be lower than Spot prices.

19. Future Premium Report -NSE

The price paid to acquire the option.


The charts of Options actually show the rising or falling Premium value and cost of carry
percentage.

20. Market-wide Limit Report

Market wide Limit Report – Newly added

Explanation -"Market Wide Limit" for a stock is the maximum open interest allowed for a
particular stock in the derivatives segment. This report compares how much % of open interest
has been traded with respect to the limits set.

- Reports also Auto Refreshes (in minutes)


21. Option Calculator

How it works ?

Open a Option Chart and Press Alt+O

You will see that automatically most of the details are already filled in.

Stock Price = Current Price of the underlying stock.

Strike Price = Current Strike price of the Option contract.

Annual Interest = x% (is the Risk free interest rate) (Manual)

Volatility = (annual volatility of the asset) (Manual)

Dates – From and To dates come automatically to calculate the “Days to Maturity”.

“Press Calculate” - The Option greeks are updated.

To calculate Implied Volatility

Option Price – Enter the Current Option price of the Call or Put.

Press Calculate – Please note while calculating Implied Volatility the other values are

taken from above (Excluding Volatility)


22. Group Analysis :-

Compare the performance of Multiple Groups together.

Find out which group has performed or underperformed today. Also get to know which stocks
have performed the most or worst in a group.

Example: If you find out that Todays Markets best performers was BANK group. You can also
find out which stock is the best performing in the BANK Group.
23. Delivery Volume Report :-

Delivery volume report provides previous dates volume of different scrips .

> Report can be seen for full Nse or for selected Group.

> Del % > changed to 2 edit boxes for Del% between XXX and YYY, def 0 and 100.

Allows shortlisting low delivery and high delivery stocks.

> 'Save To Group' button provided.


4. QUERY MENU

1. QUERY ALERT :-

The user can specify price alerts for any


number of Scrips. During the Market, the
Software will display a message if the Price
Alert is triggered. Firstly select the scrip name
and then select > or < with rates and write
down the message then add. Modify tab will
help us to make any modification .Delete to
delete any alert. If you want to save any alert
then select save tab. Pack tab will help us to
delete all alert which have already trigger.
There are no limits to add the alerts. There is
identification that which trade already trigger
we will see which time they trigger.

2. TICK QUERY

TICK QUERY is a powerful


scanner through which
user can specify his set of
filters and tracker any kind
of price movement which
is supported by heavy
volumes or low volume.
This can be done for All
Scrips or for a specific
Group. We can set
quantity or value according
to us and make a condition
and or. Once the
conditions are enabled,
the Scrip list will be
updated live as and when
the trade takes place.
Difference
Difference: - Through this option we can set a difference previous tick. This difference will in
rupees.

Clear Button: - This option will clear all the records in the window.

Check All Button


Button: - Through this option we can check all the data for the conditions set, from
the beginning of the market to the current time.

Save to Group
Group: - This option will save the list of companies in the Tick Watch to a User-Defined
Group. And we can apply this group anywhere in the software.

Save
Save: - Through this option we can save all records which we are seeing in tick query means we
can see one securities more than one time. We can open 4 tick query windows

3. Market Query

Through this feature we can run queries on the Live Market and find out which Scrips are good
for Buying or Selling. This is live feature but we have to run this feature when we require it or
we can apply refresh minutes. We can build formulas based on the different variables available
like as rate, % change, qty, value, ticks. The User has the option of saving the Report as a .CSV
File and even creates a group in user define groups of output report. We can add max six
additional columns like as if we want to see tick Average, buy qty, sell qty and many more we
can see it to scroll the down button. We can also make our condition in market query. When we

4. Event Selector :-

Through this feature we can check or


uncheck these options during the live market,
the software will display an alert message
and when important events are triggered
during the day. We can select from a range
of events available in event selector like as
bullish, bearish and reversal misc and pivot.
All the Events can be set using this Event
Selector. Click on Show Tracker button to see
the selected events in the live market.

All records in the Event Tracker will take


your machine memory so to free the used
memory of your machine deletes all records
which already trigger. We can run event selector also on our group.
You can select the events that you feel important and automatically keep tracking it live during

the market. Most common and popular events being..

BULLISH > High of Day

BEARISH > Low of Day.

Pivots are also included in Event Tracker.

You can now have 4 Event Tracker running simultaneously.

5. Technical Query
The above window pops up when we click on technical query in query menu. It has the
following options.

• Live query :- For running technical query during intraday we have to select this option. It
gives us results as soon the conditions mentioned by us are fulfilled.
• Historical :- For getting result in report format we can use this option of technical query
here the result is retrieved at that particular instance of time and we can change the
offset option for getting previous results.
• Load :- For loading predefined queries provided in the software we have to use this
option.
Open :- Clicking on this option will open the conditions we have selected.

Cancel :- Clicking on this option will close this window and cancel our selection.

• Clear All :- While making a technical query if we need to delete all condition we can use
this option by clicking all the conditions get deleted.
• Help :- On clicking this option a notepad window opens which gives us the features of the
technical query. Any add-ons or modification in technical query is also mentioned in it .
• Nse :- For running the query on all scrips of Nse we have to select this option.
• Bse :- For running the query on all scrips of Bse we have to select this option.
• Nse Derive :- For running the query on all scrips of both Futures and options we have to
select this option.
• Nse Futures :- For running the query on all scrips of NSE Futures we have to select this
option.
• Nse Options :- For running the query on all scrips of NSE Options we have to select this
option.
• Group :- For running the query on a predefined, Industrial or user defined group we have
to select this option.
• Save :- For saving the query which we have made as per our requirement we use this
option.

NOTE :- The query made by the user is saved in User folder of iris with an extension “.qrr3
qrr3”
• Clear :- While making a technical query if we need to delete a particular condition we can
use this option by clicking on that particular condition which is to be deleted
• Chart :- For getting a chart with the conditions (studies) defined by us or predefined we
can use this option.
• C0 to C49 :- These are the thirty fields where we can mention our conditions using
studies. On double clicking the below given window opens here we can select our
required studies and define the parameters, conditions according to our requirement.
Default Standard parameters are already given in these studies.

6. Strategy Testing :-

You can now test your strategies before applying it in real markets.With Strategy Testing You
will be able to check your Strategies on Daily Chart and verify your strategies portability.
STRATEGY TESTING IS DESIGNED WITH MANY IMPORTANT FEATURES LIKE

a) Money Management concepts like Entry Stop, Profit Stop, Trail Stop

b) Allows choice of selection Entry / Exit at Day Close or Next Days Open.

c) Uses Slippage Concept - Difference between Actual Transacton and Technical

Signal.

d) Shows Scrip wise Summary Report

e) Shows Per Scrip Detailed Signal and Trade Report.

5. SETTINGS MENU

1. Scrip Synch :- Through this option we can synchronize all


the Charts on the Screen with the same Scrip. When we
change the Scrip, all the Charts will automatically be
updated in all the windows with the same Scrip. This is very
useful when the user is studying the Intraday, Daily, Weekly
and Monthly performance of any single Scrip in different
time periods.

2. Period Synch :- The period sync option when enabled will


synchronize all the Charts on the Screen with the same
Period. When we change period of any of the Chart all the
Charts will automatically be updated with the same period.
This feature is very useful if the user wants to compare the
Intraday, Daily, Weekly or Monthly progress of different
Scrips at the same time interval.

3. Exchange Synch :- The Exchange synch option when


enabled will synchronize to other exchange with same chart.
When we open any chart then the Charts will automatically
be updated second chart with the same scrip. This feature is
very useful if the user wants to compare same chart in both
exchange.

4. Auto Next Scrip :- This option helps us to see all the scrips in
a grop as a slide show the changing speed is mentioned in the
timer which is in seconds its shortcut is Ctrl A and to stop auto
scrip will also same short cut.

5. Adjust Corp Act :- This option helps gives us the adjusted Charts having undergone any
corporate action automatically like Rights, Bonus, Split,
Split, Dividend. Disabling this option will
show the Chart in an Un-Adjusted format. Shortcut will Ctrl X for adjusted or unadjusted format.
These all action we can see also chart like as D 0, B 1:1, S 10:2.

6. Change Price Scale :- The charts can be viewed in Log Scale or Linear scale. Shortcuts will Ctrl
L to change log to INR.
7. Chart Settings :-

Chart
Chart: - Under studies option we can
hide/unhide certain things related to
studies found on the chart like study
parameters, dividend adjustments and
pivot levels.

New Chart :- New chart give option to


add support line ,horizontal and vertical
lines on chart

Chart Display
Display:- chart display option
provide pivot labels,previous high &
low lines and intraday vertical lines

Chart Study :- In this chart study we can


check option like show parameter and
show swing values and study line
thickness

8. Tools Settings :-

Ask Tool Color :- When tools are


drawn it asks for the tool color and
from here we can select or deselect
this option and we can also provide a
default tool color.

Ask % Retrace :- When we draw


retracement on a chart it asks for
retracement percentage when we
descelect this option the retracement
pen opens directly.

Show tool Number :- Along with tools


plotted on a chart a tool number is
also seen which can be removed from
here.

Show Support/Resistance Value :-


Along with Price it will show support and resistance value
Default Tool color : - This option when selected then tool color option does not appear after
plotting a tool.

Show retrace Value :- When this option is selected then retrace value is also plotted on the
chart

Show retrace % :- When this option is selected then retrace % value is also plotted on the chart

Auto Extend Line :- If we want to draw a trend line in both directions then we select this
option.

9. Other Settings

The menu we are willing to see along with the


home options can be selected here, Check on in
front of check box. Multi monitor option is used
for multi screen settings . Data drive shows the
destination drive where the software is saved.

NOTE: - To make effective your settings please


don’t forget to select set tab
Set the sounds of various alerts on new high / low, alert and tick query also. Set the Margins on
the Charts on right side, and from top and from bottom. The user can specify the right margin
in numbers as 10, 20, and 50 to see a gap on the right of the Chart. SG separator means which
line differentiate between price and volume. We can also disable SG separator. Maximum value
for SG separator is 9 and min value for this is 1. max bars 4000 means we can see 4000 closing
points on one screen. We can change this value.

10. Color Settings

We can change the background color, scale color, text color, bullish and bearish color also.
These settings will be saved automatically. You can change event ,tick query ,technical query
and chart colors as your use .
11. Important levels

We see on intraday chart some important level like pervious day close, high, low and + - levels
if we want to hide / unhide these levels we can set to select or deselect the important levels. If
we want to change + or - level we can do so.

12. Set Chart Period

Intraday bar size help us to select the intraday bar according to us, if we want to see intraday
chart of a tick by tick, 1min, 2min, 5min we can see with the help of this feature. Shortcut of
intraday bar size is Ctrl I

13. Data window

This is a data window which provides us the data wherever the curser is moving on a bar it gives
the values of bar No, open, high, mouse position etc. Short cuts for data window will Ctrl D.
14. Show Marker Bar

We can draw various Line Tools which are necessary for analysis. Selecting this option displays a
list of various line tools like as Trend Lines, Retracement, Support or resistance (vertical lines
and horizontal lines) Lines, Fibonacci, Cycle, Speed Lines, Andrew Pitchfork etc) available. Short
cuts for tools will Ctrl E. The User has to first click on the chart where wants to draw any of the
line tools and then select the tools by Right Click and select from the option of add line tool
then press H to select the high of the candle or press L to select the low of the candle, press Alt
H to select the high of the screen or press Alt L to select the low of the screen.

Note:-1. After selecting the tool say a trend line the cursor is displayed as a pen. At this point
the user can select the HIGH, LOW, the Highest or Lowest Point on the Chart. See Shortcut Keys
Menu for more help.

2. The user can also use the arrow keys to extend the trend lines after marking the first point.

3. Please don’t have any unnecessary trend line or tool on their chart. Remove it after some
time

Show Marker

With the help of markers we can draw left triangle, right triangle, up triangle, down triangle, or
if you want to capture any area, any text you want to write on your chart and cross air to see on
your chart.
Optionss
Right Click Option

Scrip by name
name: -. Clicking on this menu opens the scrip by name – box. .Code: Enter the Code
Number or Name of the company to be opened. Before
saying OK, the user is advised to press tab or enter key, so
that the user can verify the code he has entered. (Default
chart which opens is a Daily Chart in bars). If the User is
not sure of the CODE he can also type in the first few
characters of the Name of the Scrip and press ENTER. The
user can then select from the list of Scrips displayed.

Scrip from group


group: - If we want to open scrips from a group then we have to use this option, it
opens the group and its scrips can be seen one by one.

Scrip from Other Exch


Exch: - While watching a NSE charts if we want to toggle between Bse and Nse
we can do so by clicking this option.Short cut for this option is Ctrl W.

Active Group :-
Group:-
:-The user select an entire Group of Scrip's in a single chart. The group can be
selected from a List of Predefined, Industrial or any User-Defined Groups. Click on the Scrip
name to activate the Group. The user can go through all the Scrip's in the Chart by just pressing
the down arrow or by using the Auto Next Scrip feature.

Change Period:-

This option is used to Change the period of the current Chart. The User can view Daily, Weekly,
Monthly, Quarterly, Half Yearly or Yearly charts just by selecting any of the options.
Short cuts for above options will be------

D = Daily W = Weekly
M = Monthly Q = Quarterly.

Corporate Information

This menu is used to see information on various Rights, Bonus, Divident and Splits of particular
Scrip

Save Chart : To save your chart.

Chart::Use this option to close individual charts. While the clear screen option clears all
Close Chart
the charts on the screen. The close chart option will close one chart at a time.

zoom::To zoom or UN zoom the area of a chart on screen


Zoom / UN zoom

printer::To take the direct print out from printer first save it and then give print

command.

Save chart to file:

We can save charts in different format like as JIF, JPEG, BMP, and EMF.

Graph::To compare intraday volume with intraday prices on price scale.

User Notes :This option will help us to note any comment on your particular chart. Short cut is

Add study:
study:To add any study on scrip this option helps us its shortcut is “S”. Select the right
parameters the main aspect while drawing any Study on the Chart. After that select sub graph
and check o where you want to plot the study like on price or volume or other window. Then
select input for giving the required input. Then click add to add your study

Modify Study :- Clicking on the name of the Study on the chart will display the modification
window of that particular study. Then we can then make the necessary changes in the
parameters of the study Follow this simple procedure to Modify Studies on the Chart.

Step 1:- Click on the check box next to the


Name of the Study to select the Study. Select
only one study at a time. Click on ok.

Step 2:- After Clicking on study the user can see


the study modification box where he can
modify the study. Click on the PARAMETER tab
to view the parameters. We can change the
parameters according to preference. The Colors
of the lines drawn can be changed by double
clicking on the colored bar (e.g. Green color or
the red color bar)
Step 3:- The user can now click on the subgraph
to Select Price ,Volume and Average .

Step 4 : Input : The user can now click on the


input to Select price-close,price-high,price-low
option which one is suitable to your analysis
and click on in all time frames then click on ok .

Note:
The Sub graph (which determines on where the
study will be plotted) and
The Input (which determines what value is used
to calculate the study)
are both taken automatically but the user still
has the option of changing it.
Modify Study :

Click on study name on chart to modify study

Remove Study

The user can use this option to remove


any of the studies from the chart.
Remember that Price and Volume are
also studies but they can’t be removed.
They can however be Hidden by selecting
Hide / Unhide Study

Step 1:- Click on the check box, next to


the Name of the Study to select the
Study. Click on ok. Clicking on ok will
remove the selected study from the
chart.

Hide / Unhide Study

The user can use this option to remove any of the studies from the chart. Remember that Price
and Volume are also studies but they can’t be removed. They can however be Hidden by
selecting Hide / Unhide Study. Follow this simple procedure to Hide / Unhide Studies from the
Chart. Click on the check box, next to the Name of the Study and remove the check mark from
the box this will indicate which studies are hidden and which are to be shown on the chart. Click
on ok.
Clicking on ok will hide / unhide the selected study from the chart .
Remove Line Tools
Use this option to remove the line
tools which are no longer needed.
Just remove the check mark next
to the name by clicking on the
Name and description. Click ok to
remove.

Hide / Unhide tool: - This option


will help us to hide / unhide tools
on your chart. Short key for hide /
unhide tools is Alt H.

Save Price Study Value to CSv File:


File:- Through this option we can direct save all value like as
open, high, low, close etc as a excel file.

Export Chart To Report Designer: - This option will help us to export our all studies in report
designer through which we can generate a report. Just click this option and save in report
designer.

Show chart between


between: - This option will help us to show a
chart between user specific time period like if I want to
watch my chart within a specific time then go this menu
and select first date and then select second date and press
set. To reset this setting select show chart between again
and select the option reset. This option will not work in
intraday.

Save Chart View:


View:-To save your chart with a shortcut. To save your chart press Ctrl F7 and to
load your chart press Alt F7. We can make 6 shortcuts through the help of this option from F7
to F12.

Load chart view


view: - To load save chart which save through
Ctrl F7. This option will help us to load all save chart
shortcuts.

Intraday Data window


window: - To see your curser movement and
all over information about your curser like as open, low,
close etc. This window can’t move anywhere so you think
that it will take more space you can use external data
window. Shortcut will Ctrl B.

Candle Sticks Pattern


Pattern: - To enable this option we can find
out all candle patterns on you chart just click in check box
and press ok. Your selection will separate with a white line. Short cut is Ctrl C to hide / un hide
your candle patterns.

Calendar Mode
Mode: - This option will help us to separate our price and volume as calendar period.
Short for calendar mode is ctrl F.

Intraday Support Lines


Lines:-Intraday support line means pivot levels in intraday market means four
support and four resistance level with pivot level. Short cut is Ctrl G.

Horizontal Grid Lines


Lines: - Through this option we can draw horizontal lines on the chart on daily,
intraday, weekly etc. To hide / unhide these lines select this option. Short cut is Ctrl H.

Vertical Grid Lines


Lines: - Through this option we can draw vertical lines on the chart on daily,
weekly etc. To hide / unhide these lines select this option. Short cut is Ctrl V. On intraday
vertical line already exist so this option will work on other time period.

Bracket Report
Report:- It gives us a report basing upon previous and current open high low close and
can be used for getting buying and selling signals.

Reverse Y Scale
Scale:-To enable this option we can watch the chart reverse like as price, volume etc.
Short cut is Ctrl R.

Show Price Gaps


Gaps:-To show all gaps which are not filled completely. We will see gap up, gap
down and partially filled gaps. Short cut is Ctrl Y.

Change in Rupee: -To change the Percentage of change in rupee on daily, weekly etc exclude
intraday chart. Short cut is Ctrl P.

Report Price All


All: - This option will help us to show all quote listing from beginning to ending the
chart separated with lines. We can save it as any type which given in save option. Short cut is
Shift F7.

Report Price Display: - This option will help us to show all quote listing which period you are
seeing on your desktop. File separated with lines. We can save it as any type which given in
save option. Shift F8.

Channel
Channel:-To draw a channel parallel to any trend line through this option.

Right Click Menu options in Price Watch

• Change Group
Group: -This option helps the user to switch to other groups while watching the
Price Watch. The user can select from the list of any Predefined, Industrial and User-
Defined groups.
• Save to Group
Group: -After adding any scrip to the list the user can save it directly from here
as a User-Defined group.
• Hide \ Un hide Columns
Columns: - If the user wants to Hide or unhide columns, just check or
uncheck the desired columns.
• Change Font
Font: - Change the font size as your needs.
• Default font
font: - At any mistake you can recover default font through this option.
• Save to File
File: - Saves the entire Price Watch to a file. The File is saved in CSV (Excel)
format and the user can take a printout of the file.
• Save to spider DDE CSV CSV: -We already discussed this feature in DDELink option.
• Add Scrip
Scrip: - You add Scrip to the existing List. Use this to create a fresh group.
• Add Deriv Scrip :- You add Derivative Scrip to the existing List. Use this to create a fresh
group
• Add Derivative Scrips :- You add multiple Derivative Scrip to the existing List. Use this to
create a fresh group.
• Remove Scrip
Scrip: -Just Click on the Scrip and then Right Click. Select Remove Scrip to
remove the Scrip from the List.
• Save Scrip List
List: - Save the list of Scripts to a file. In which we can rearrange the scrips as
per our requirement.
• Load Scrip List: - Load the Saved Scrip List.

• Calculatorr :-If we select any option present in price watch ,It will show option
Option Calculato
calculator of that scrip.

• Derivative Summary Report :- If we select any Futures /option present in price watch ,It
will show derivative summary report of that scrip.
