Emcees’ Script :

APPRECIATION NIGHT 2019

Fatima: May I ask the everyone to kindly settle down. We about to begin the program in a few minutes. Thank
you.

Albert: Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. I’m Brother Albert Jimenez, SSM

Fatima: And I’m Ms. Fatima Caballes. We feel honored to be your masters of ceremonies for tonight.

Albert: That is true Ms. Fatima! We are here to recognize the individuals and teams of our institution who
have journeyed through the years and set benchmarks of service excellence.

Fatima: As we celebrate the 40th Foundation of IHMCP, we shall not forget the men and women who – in the
course of ordinary circumstances – have showed extraordinary dedication, perseverance, support and
excellence that contributed to what we now know about our institution, and in return, could inspire
us to be the best in the years to come.

Albert: And do you know what excellence in education is all about? It lies in the work of the school team –
principals, teachers, and support staff – that creates the success of every learner. One heart, one soul,
and one mind.

Fatima: I couldn’t agree more! Before we formally begin the program, we would like to acknowledge the
presence of the School President - Sr. Lydia O. Cañon, SFSC, Mother General Amabile Galata,
SFSC, Vicaria Generale –Nympha Grajo, SFSC, Mo. Provincial Nenette Lobino, SFSC, Sec.
Generale – Sr. Wilma Jugador, SFSC, and Fr. Dennis Antonio Paez, SDB. To our school
administrators, awardees and their families – a warmest welcome to all of you!

Albert: May we ask everyone to stand for the singing of the Philippine National Anthem to be led by Ms.
Martha Astilla and an opening prayer by Sr. Mary Edna Liamzon, SFSC.

Fatima: Thank you Ms. Martha and Sr. Mary. You may now take your seats and let us listen to our School
President, Sr. Lydia O. Cañon, SFSC, for her welcoming remarks. Let us all give her warm round of
applause.

*** SR. LYDIA’S SPEECH ***

Fatima: Thank you Sr. Lydia for that wonderful speech! (SPONTANEOUS SPEECH/SPILL)

Albert: Yes, Ms. Fatima. And to fill the evening with resounding words of wisdom, it is my honor and privilege
to introduce to you our next speaker, …… Please help me to welcome Fr. Dennis Antonio Paez, SDB.

Albert: Thank you Fr. Dennis for that heartwarming message. (SPONTANEOUS SPEECH/SPILL)

Fatima: That is right Bro. Albert! It is guaranteed these words of wisdom will be etched in our hearts and
minds as we move to the next forty years!
Albert: That is something to look forward to, Ms. Fatima. And to add, it is such a blessing that we are
part of 40th Foundation Celebration. At this juncture, we are going to honor the first set of receipients
behind the fruitful journey of the school throughout the years. It is our way to say “thank you” for all
the services that they selflessly gave to this institution.

Fatima: To give the certificates and tokens to our receipients, may we call on Mo. Amabile Galata, SFSC
(Mother General), and Mo. Nenette Lobino, SFSC (Mo. Provincial).

Albert: First of all, we acknowledge the priceless efforts of Mo. Flora Zippo, SFSC being part of establishing
the Immaculate Heart of Mary School in 1979. Eventhough she is not here tonight, the whole IHMCP
community will be ever grateful for her works.

2. Sr. Guia V. Morena, SFSC


- School Head from 1979-1988; 1996-2006
- Opened Immaculate Heart of Mary School from Preschool – Highschool

3. Sr. Lydia O. Cañon, SFSC


- Principal – 1989-1992; 2006-2010
- School President – 2014-Present
- Started the Preliminary Application of PAASCU and the FAPE – Private Education Assistance Committee
(PEAC)

4. Mother Nympha G. Grajo, SFSC


- for her support in the works of the IHMCP community
- 1st Mother Provincial – Philippine Province

5. Fr. Rene T. Lagaya, SDB


- 1st IHMS Chaplain – spiritual support to students/faculty and staff

6. Fr. Dennis Paez, SDB


- spiritual needs to students/faculty and staff

7. Fr. Gaudencio Carandang Jr. SDB


- spiritual needs to students/faculty and staff
- School Chaplain 1998-2003

8. Mr. Tony Que


- PTA President
- Supported in the construction of Gymnasium and Boy Scout Center
- Donated 4 Bay light
- As a PTA President, he supported the SAGE projects lead by his son being the SAGE president

9.Ms. Aurorita M. Secretario


- started in 1981- 2001
- Vice/Assistant Principal
- Worked for the DepEd recognition permit to operate:
 Kindergarted/Preparatory Course
 Elementary Course
 Secondary Course
 Proud and grateful to have brought IHMS enrolleed from 200+ to 3000 in SY 2000-2001 and retired at
the age of 60.
10. Ms. Lourdes Bertis
- Started in 1980-2000 (A fruitful years in service)
- Preschool Vice-Principal/Parent of 2 students

Albert: Thank you very much to our first set of receipients. You may now take your seats.
Fatima: To Mother General Amabile Galata, SFSC and Mother Provincial Nenette Lobino, SFSC
for giving the certificates and tokens to our dedicated members of our institution. You may
now be seated.

Of course the list of people who went “extra miles”, from IHMS to IHMC, will surely inspire those
leaders who here tonight. May we invite our school president, Sr. Lydia O. Cañon, SFSC and Secretary
General, Sr. Wilma Jugador, SFSC in giving the certificates and tokens to the following receipients.

11. Ms. Minerva Orijuela


- 30 years of service (1981-2011)
- Coordinator in Araling Panlipunan, Math, and Filipino
- Overall Scouts Coordinator – put up School’s Scout Organization (Boys & Girls)
- Take the lead in building the Scouts Building which served as the house of all scouts for many years
- establised the Marian School Band
- Outreach Night School PEPT Head – DBCS known as IHMS/IHMC PEPT Review Program
- PAASCU Committee Head – School and Community
- In-charge of the School Archive from 1981 to 2011
- Became instrumental in establishing the College with her efforts in gathering all the necessary documents
needed for college level.

12. Ms. Pepezita G. Pacana


- Started in 1994-2014
- Grade 6 Class Adviser/English Teacher
- OIC Science Coordinator (Elementary/HS for 13 years)
- HS Vice Principal (2011-2012)
- GS Vice Principal (2012-2013)
- Director for Academic Affairs – 2013-2014
 Academic Programs:
o Science Wizard Program – Fast Leaners
o Science Pacer Program – Slow learners & students at risk
o Summer Academic Intervention Program
 Community/School Program
o Linis Ganda Program – Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
o Income – purchased projectors (use of acetate), 3 LCDs; helped in spiritual retreat for teachers
(allowance added)

13. Ms. Gina E. Navarro


She has done numerous support programs to IHMC:
- Implemented Enhanced Preschool Curriculum to the concept of “Play to Learn”
- created and designed the preschool activity rooms
- conceptualized in 1996 the implementation of computer education to Gr. 4 – HS and in 2000 preschool was
given an integration of educational courseware to classroom lessons.
- Implemented the use of project-based courseware to all grade level and ROBOTICS program
- As an English Subject Coordinator, Ms. Navarro envisioned that Immaculatinian students to be eloquent in
language and communication. Therefore, she initiated the Speech laboratory and designed the GS
Reading Recovery Program – that caters children with reading difficulties and provides reading
enhancements.
- She organized the Learning Resource Center (LRC) for PAASCU requirement.
14. Dr. Arlene Rivera
- Our currently School Dentist
- She became a member of the IHMCP community since 2000
- Her contributions to our school are as follows:
 Promulgated roles and policy of the school clinic with regards to dental health, saftey and protection
 Participated actively in the medical/dental mission outreach
 Pioneered different dental forms and initiated flouride treatment among students
 As a parent – one of the members of the executive board
 Initiated the family day celebration per level to strenghten relationship between teachers and families.

15. Marian Barbon


- started in 1988-2012
- expansion and improvement of clinical records and equipment.
- spearheaded the health programs such vaccines, annual medical/dental check-ups
- Medical missions in coordination with Dr. Baluyot

16. Mr. Jesus Rafael Francisco


- Started in 1999 – Present
- Class Adviser, Discipline Officer, General Services Officer, Coordinator of student affairs, and basketball
coach. Currently the Physical Plant as well as Safety officer and sports coordinator.
- Contributions:
 Started and established the sports office
 Was able to bring student athletes in the nationals (Palarong Pambansa)
 Represented the school and brougth numerous achievements in basketball (MMBL/LSMS tournament)
 First Alumnus to received the 20 years of service awardee.

Fatima: Let us all give them again a round of applause. Thank you…. Thank you Sr. Lydia O. Cañon, SFSC
(School President) and Sr. Wilma Jugador, SFSC (Sec. Generale), you may now take your seats. The night is
not yet over without honoring the people whose hardwork and partnership with our school have been visible
throughout the forty years.

Albert: Yes, Ms. Fatima. And now we may invite here in front, Mo. Nympha Grajo, SFSC (Vicaria Generale)
and Mo. Nenette Lobino, SFSC (Sec. Generale) to honor our awardees with certificates and tokens.

- Moderator of Community Extension Services
 Established a community partnership with IHMCP adopted community GK Malacañang
 Awarded in 2008 by the National Shrine of Mary Help of Christian for encouraging the Youth in parish
involvement.

- Started 1994 – present
- Accounting clerk
- payroll/disbursing officer
- bookeeper/disbursing officer
Albert: Congrats….May we call on the representatives of the following companies whose magnanimous
partnership has been part of the school’s growth.

Albert: Thank you very much to our partners. We hope to strenghten partnership to attain our goal for

Fatima: On behalf of the IHMCP community, we want to sincerely thank each and every one of you. What we
have become at the present is nothing without your envisioned goals and hardwork in the past.

Albert: I agree! But there’s nothing interesting in celebration without food. I believe everyone is excited for our
dinner tonight.

Fatima: Nothing beats food and socialization! May I ask everyone to stand for our prayer before meal to be led
Fr. Paez.

Please enjoy the prepared food and the wonderful night with everyone!

Fatima: Of course, Bro. Albert. That was a sumptuous food that I hope everyone enjoyed as well.

Albert: Thank you very much Sr. Monica and company for that lovely harmony. How could we forget that
Franciscans sisters are known for their canarious/heavenly voices!

Fatima: No doubt about it! But you know what is fascinating tonight? Recognizing our colleagues for the
extraordinary works for this institution. There is the satisfaction of being remembered for making a
difference and for remembering those whom we serve.

Albert: It is one way to visit the past – look back on how the school overcame each obstacle through the help
of these people. As the role models of perseverance, dedication, and support, we can achieve a sound
future for Immaculate Heart of Mary College-Parañaque.

Fatima: To bless us tonight and on our way home, may we call on Sr. Albina Da Costa Silva, SFSC for our
closing prayer.

Albert: Though we will part ways, we remember the people behind the success of this institution. A legacy to
be cherished forever.

Fatima: It has been an honor to recognized these outstanding men and women whose uncommon
accomplishments add to the our school’s history as an educational institution. This has been Ms.
Fatima Caballes.
Albert: And Bro. Albert Jimenez, thank you and good evening!
