Downhole Flow Control Product
BLAST JOINT
The Blast Joint is placed in the tubing string adjacent to perforations. The thick walls of this tube resist the
erosive blast of fluid from the formation, which often carries abrasive solid particles.
The Blast Joints have either API or Premium connection coupling OD and are available in 10, 20 and 30ft
lengths.
Applications

Benefits
Provides a thicker wall across from perforations to resist erosive fluid blast
FLOW COUPLING
The Flow Coupling is a thick-walled tubular components normally utilized in completions and located
adjacent to changes in the tubing ID. As compared to the normal tubing, the thicker wall Flow Coupling is more
suitable to resist the erosional turbulence caused by changes in the tubing inner diameter.
The Flow Couplings have either API or Premium connection coupling OD and are available in 3, 4, 6 and 8ft
lengths.

Provides a thicker wall to resist internal erosive wear from fluid turbulence due to ID changes
KPX / KPR EQUALIZING PRONG
The Equalizing Prong is designed for use where sediments might collect on the plug.
The long prong length, allows the prong's fish neck to protrude higher above the
sediments. This allows the prong to be pulled for equalization.
To equalize, the prong is removed from the plug housing. This will provides an
equalizing path across the Plug Choke. Two Slickline trips are required to run or pull
the plug.

LANDING NIPPLE
The Landing Nipple is a downhole completion component, fabricated as a short section of heavy wall tubular
with a machined internal surface that provides a seal area and a locking profile. Landing Nipples are included
in most completions at predetermined intervals to enable the installation of flow-control devices, such as Plugs
and Chokes.
Three basic types of Landing Nipples are commonly used: No-Go Nipples,
Selective-Landing Nipples and ported or Safety-Valve Nipples.
Applications
Features
Single nipple installations or as the bottom nipple in a series of ‘KX’ or ‘KR’ Landing Nipple.
Standard weight tubing in a series of ‘KX’ and ‘KXN’ (bottom) Landing Nipple. (The ‘N’ designates
no-go nipple)
Heavyweight tubing in a series of ‘KR’ and ‘KRN’ (bottom) Landing Nipple. (The ‘N’ designates no-go
nipple)
Large bore for minimum restriction.

LOCK MANDREL
The Lock Mandrel is a downhole device, run and retrieved on slickline in which it is
placed and anchored to the Landing Nipple within the tubing string to provide a
setting point for flow-control equipment such as valves, chokes and plugs.
The two main types of Lock Mandrel uses different mean of locating and anchoring;
a Selective Lock locates and anchors any matching Landing Nipple profile within the
tubing; and a No-Go non-selective Nipple Lock, usually installed at the bottom of the
tubing string. The No-Go Nipple Lock can also be used in taper string application.
Applications
Features
Single nipple installation or as the bottom nipple in a series of ‘KXO’ or ‘KRO’ Landing Nipple.
Standard weight tubing in a series of ‘KX’ and ‘KXN’ (bottom) Landing Nipple. (The ‘N’ designates
no-go nipple)
Heavyweight tubing in a series of ‘KR’ and ‘KRN’ (bottom) Landing Nipple. (The ‘N’ designates no-go
nipple)
Retractable Locking Key.
Locks designed to hold pressure from above or below or from sudden reversals.
Extra large ID for higher flow volumes.
Landing Nipples have the same packing bore ID for a particular tubing size and weight.

Optional Holddown
PX Profile
PR Profile
The Plug Assembly consists of the Lock Mandrel and an Equalizing Prong is designed for use where
sediment might collect on the plug. It run and pulled on a slickline and used to plug the tubing for various
operations, including setting and testing packers and testing tubing. It is used to plug the wellbore in either
direction. Before the plug is retrieve from the wellbore on slickline, the prong is removed from the prong
housing, providing an equalizing path across the plug assembly. Two slickline trips are required to run or pull
the plug.
KPX Plug Assembly made up on KXO or KXN Lock Mandrel and installed in KXO
or KXN Landing Nipples. Whilst the KPR Plug Assembly are made up on KRO or
KRN Lock Mandrel and installed in KRO or KRN Landing Nipples.

Features
Balanced Equalizing Prong with seals for either standard or H2S Service.
Fluid bypass during running or retrieving operations.
Extended-length prongs for use in completions with side pocket mandrel. The long length prevents
the prong from lodging insidethe Side Pocket Mandrel.
Vee-Packing seals on equalizing prong.
Extended prong length for use in wells with heavy sand or sediment settlement
The Polished Bore Receptacle (PBR) may be used on top of a production packer. It is used as a receptacle
to accept Seal Mandrels
The Polished Bore Receptacle and the Packer (anchored to the casing) usually formed the top components
of the lower tubing string.
The Seal Mandrel (sometimes with a Locator) forms the bottom components of the upper tubing string. The
Polished Bore Receptacle and the Seal Mandrel work as matching pair for connecting and disconnecting of
the upper string to the lower string. This allows the retrieval of the upper tubing string for repair without pulling
the packer.
The Polished Bore Receptacle can be supplied with the premium or straight threads and available in various
lengths.
Note: The Seal Bore Extension and the Polished Bore Receptacle have similar function; however, the
difference is the Seal Bore Extension connects to the bottom of the Packer whist the Polished Bore
Receptacle connects to the top of the Packer
The Pressure Operate Unload Valve is designed, when open, may be used to
circulate heavy completion fluids out of the tubing, to acidize formations, to allow
pressure tests to Packers and selectively produce well zones.

Features
The Seal Unit Assembly (sometimes used with a Locator) forms the bottom components of the tubing string.
The Packer Seal Bore / Seal Bore Extension and the Seal Unit Assembly worked as matching pair for
connecting of the upper string to the lower string. This allows the retrieval of the upper tubing string for repair
without pullling the Packer and the lower string.
The Seal Unit Assembly is typically longer than the sealbore to enable some movement of the components
while maintaining an efficient seal
The Separation Tool is used in conjunction with a Lock Mandrel. The Lock Mandrel provides as an anchoring
device to anchor the Separation Tool onto the Sliding Sleeve.
The Lock Mandrel and the Separation Tool assembly is run using an appropriate Running Tool with a Running
Prong (or by adding Prong Extension). During run in, the bottom equalize valve is held opened by the Running
Prong. Once the Lock Mandrel is landed and the Lock Mandrel inside the Sliding Sleeve Landing Nipple, the
Running Tool & Prong can be retrieved and the equalizing Valve will be closed upon retrieval of the Prong.
The Pulling Tool with a pulling prong is used to retrieve the lock and separation mandrel. The prong will open
the Equalizing Valve to allow the equalizing of the pressure before pulling the Lock Mandrel.

Application
The Sliding Sleeve is used as an in-tubing opening & closing device, which when open, allows flow between
the completion tubing and the annular area. It is designed with a ‘KX’ or 'KR' Landing Nipple profile in the Top
Sub. It incorporates Packing Bores in both the Top and Bottom Sub and with Premium Elastomer V-Seal
packing stacks.
The Sliding Sleeve is designed with full tubing flow through the Nipple and the Sleeve.
The Landing Nipple profile built in the Top Sub and the Packing Bores in the Top and Bottom Sub allow a Lock
Mandrel carrying a variety of Subsurface Flow Controls, or a plugging device to be set across or below the
‘SSD’ Sliding Sleeve. This can be done by standard wireline methods.
The Sliding Sleeve is designed, when open, may be used to circulate heavy completion fluids out of the
tubing, to acidize formations, to allow pressure tests to Packers and selectively produce well zones.
This Sliding Sleeve can be opened or closed by using a ‘42BO’ or 142BO’ type Shifting Tool.
Note: The Sliding Sleeve is designed to ‘OPEN’ or ‘CLOSE’ with one wireline trip
The Tubing Seal Divider is mechanically releasing (by Lug rotation or by shear pin)
the upper Scoop Head from the lower mandrel assembly to permit relative telescopic
movement in the well between the upper and lower tubing strings at the tubing seal
divider.
Normally, the J-Slot Mandrel will have an internal Landing Nipple profile. This
allows plugging the lower tubing by a slickline plug. The upper string with the Scoop
Head can be retrieved. The Scoop Head also provides as a conical guide to re-engage
the J-Slot Mandrel and re-connect upper string to the lower string.
Application
Provides an apparatus for coupling upper and lower tubing strings together in a well bore
Provides a casing pressure responsive
Run and mechanically released and space out for longitudinal expansion or contraction of the
coupled tubing strings
WIRELINE RE-ENTRY GUIDE Print
The Wireline Re-Entry Guide is used for safe reentry of wireline tools from casing into the tubing string.
Threaded on the top end only, it is attached to the bottom end of the production string and is designed with a
beveled guide and a full open internal diameter.
