PDI provided in this day’s paper stories that reach a wide spectrum of interest and
relevance from international to regional issues, majority of which were about the
spread of corona virus, now officially named as COVID-19, that is currently a global
crisis.

To amplify the importance of this issue, PDI presented the stories of how COVID-
19 scare is handled by local tourists’ destinations and towns, its effect on the
economy of many countries, and even featured the media practitioners’ vital roles
and sacrifices to control the virus.

Lastly, deaths and apprehension of “drug users” and media persons related to drugs
are also reported in many provinces which is a manifestation of Duterte’s
nationwide and prevailing war on drugs
