4 Disconnect automatic transmission/intelligent
servo module (X22/6) connector at intelligent
servo module (A80)
5 Prop up transmission and secure against Vehicles with 4MATIC
falling down.
6 Remove engine crossmember (1) Vehicles with 4MATIC
The rear engine mount remains on the
transmission.

Vehicles with engine 156 AR22.10-P-1170GZS

7 Remove bolts (5) Installation: Replace bolts (5).

8 Remove intelligent servo module (A80) with When reusing the intelligent servo
bleed hose module (A80) do not detach bleed hose.
Leaky separation points result in water entry.
9 Twist the range selector shaft (3) of the When replacingthe intelligent servo module
transmission counterclockwise up to the end (A80).

The new intelligent servo module (A80) is
on position"D" (arrow). (condition as supplied)
When replacing intelligent servo module
(A80) replace bleed hose.
Installation: The positions of the range
selection shaft (3) and intelligent servo
module (A80) must match up, rotate range
selection shaft (3) if necessary.

10 Install in the reverse order
11 Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS, read out fault
memory and erase if necessary
12 Using STAR DIAGNOSIS, perform initial After replacing intelligent servo module
