How-to Guide: Conduct Microsoft

Dynamics AX Demo VM
Maintenance

Background
Here are some quick tips on how to conduct Microsoft Dynamics AX maintenance.

Step by step
1. Log on to AX2012R3A.

2. Go to Start > Command Prompt (Admin).

3. Enter the following command:


cd "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics AX\60\Server\MicrosoftDynamicsAX\bin"

4. Enter the following command:
axbuild.exe xppcompileall /s=01 /altbin="C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Dynamics AX\60\Client\Bin"

The process will run for approximately 45 minutes.

5. Download AXMaintenance.sql.

6. Start SQL Server Management Studio.

7. Log on to Database Engine.

8. Click File > Open > File.

9. Locate and open AXMaintenance.sql.

10. Click Execute.

11. Enter the following command in SQL Server Management Studio:
Use MicrosoftDynamicsAX
GO
Exec Sp_statistics_maintenance

12. Click Execute.
