I. Learning Objectives:
At the end of 45 minutes, the Grade 10 students will be able to:

a) identify the street and hip-hop dance styles;


b) appreciate the importance of street and hip-hop dance in our lives
through active participation in activities promoting fitness and;
c) create and perform their own routine related to street and hip-hop dance
styles.

Topic: Street and Hip-hop Dance
Materials: Visual Aids, Video
Reference: Physical Education and Health 10 (pages 110-11)

A. Activity
“Jigsaw Puzzle”

 The students will be divided into 7 groups.


 Each group will be given an envelope which contains unpuzzled pieces of
pictures. They will be given 1 minute to assemble the picture.
 The students will post the puzzled picture on the board.
 The teacher will randomly pick a representative each group to share his/her
idea about the given picture/puzzle.

B. Analysis

 How do you find our activity for today?


 What do you think are those pictures you puzzled?
 Are those pictures familiar to you?
 Have you already engaged to those activities?
 What do you usually do in your leisure time?
 What do you think is our topic for today?

C. Abstraction and Generalization

What to know?
“Brainstorming/Group Discussion and Socratic Method”
 Street and Hip-hop Dance

 What to process?

 In your own idea, what is street dance? Hip-hop dance?


 What is the difference between Street and hip-hop dance styles?
 Who among you here experienced this type of dances?
 Can you consider street and hip-hop dance relevant nowadays?
 Do you think it is important to engage ourselves into dancing? Why?
 What do you think are the benefits in engaging ourselves in dances?

D. Application

“DIY Activity”

 The students will be divided into 4 groups. Each group will create their own
routine that is related to street and hip-hop dance.
 Each group will be given 10 minutes to practice and prepare their routine.
 after 10 minutes, they will perform in front to the class and the points will be
graded accordingly.

Criteria
Cooperation 20 points

Enthusiasm 30 points

Choreography 50 points

IV. Evaluation

Identification. Write the correct answer on the space provided after the
number.
