Bearing Details

This document provides technical guidance on bearing details for Omnia precast concrete permanent formwork panels and planks. It discusses support considerations for the panels on steelwork, in-situ concrete, and masonry. For steelwork, it recommends a nominal 55mm bearing and notes that differential levels may require a compressible bitumen strip. For in-situ concrete, it recommends casting a fully homogenous slab for support or arranging links to allow 65mm bearing if using half-cast beams. For masonry, it recommends a nominal 60mm bearing set back 30mm from the cavity.

articulated vehicles ready for immediate offloading and placing onto prepared supports. Depending on the
specific requirements of the contract, various support details can be considered.

For Heath & Safety purposes, OMNIA panels will be supplied with the maximum bearing possible,
which may exceed the nominal figures given below.
