Employee Associations

Trade unions:

The trade union act 1926 has defined the trade union has “Any contribution of persons
weather

Temporary or permanent formed primarily for the purpose of regulatory between workmen
and employers for imposing restrictive conditions on the conduct of any trade or business and
includes any federation of two or more trade unions.

An organized association of workers in a trade, group of trades, or profession, formed to


protect and further their rights and interests.

Problems of trade unions in India:

There are six problems:

 Uneven growth
 Small size in some trade unions
 Weak financial position
 Political leadership
 Multiplicity of unions

 Inter union rivalry

Objectives of trade unions

The main objectives of trade unions are as follows:

To secure or the workers fair wages in the light of the cost of living and prevailing rate

To improve working conditions, better leave facilities and adequate social security.

To protect workers against exploitation & victims action by the capitalist

To ensure security of employment or job by resisting retrenchment

To secure industrial democracy there by bringing above new social order.


Types of Trade Union:

Employee association:

Employees are started association in to get things in the organization. Like good wage &
salary structure, good working conditions & working culture with proper timings.

An organization, other than a trade union, whose members comprise employees of a single
employing organization. The aims of the association may be social, recreational, or
professional

Objectives of Employee Association

 To protect the industry, trade and commerce


 To maintain organizational relations between management & labour
 Collect information of employees, employee problems for better solutions.
 Rapid industrialization of a country through sound progressive economic policies.
 To help increasing the aggregate wealth of India.
 Utilization of full of possible extent all the available natural and human resource in
the country.

Other objectives are as follows:

 To develop the healthy and stable industrial relations.


 To promote collective bargaining at different levels.
 To bring a unified employers view point on the issues of industrial relations to the
government in a concerted manner.
 To represent in the meeting of ILC and SLC boards in conformity with tripartite
approach to labor matters.

Financial status of employee association

In our company in the earlier stages the general perform of trade unions have been later
developed. Industry wise or area wise many trade unions and employee association have been
developed.

The financial status is as follows:

 The fluctuation are in the membership has an impact on the financial status of both
trade union and employee association.
 They have a poor financing support has a result in adequate membership strength.
 The contribution from the members of association (trade unions) which is very low
amount of contribution.
 The general picture of financial as unions is disappointed the employees in
associations and unions.
