Key to the Study of Transits-

1) Note down your Mahadasha Lord. Its Nakshatra Lord. Which Houses
does the Nakshatra Lord signify in the Cuspal Chart.

2) 2) Note down the Antardasha Lord .Its Nakshatra Lord. Which Houses
does the Nakshatra Lord signify in the Cuspal Chart.

3) 3) Note the transit of the Mahadasha Lord for next few months in
which Star and which Sub it transits.

4) Note the transit of the antardasha Lord for next few months in which
Star it transits.
Whenever the antardasha Lord transits a Star which signifies the good
houses in your chart, you stand to gain., if the Mahadasha Lord too is
transiting simultaneously a Star which signifies a Benefic House.

5) (For slow moving planets like Mars, Rahu, Jupiter, Saturn or Ketu,
also note down the Subs too, while for fast moving ones like
Sun,Mercury,Venus, you may just note its entry into which Nakshatras)
This will guide you exactly, as to which days would give you gains and
which days would give you trouble.

A KP astrologer shall sit for analysis at an appropriate time when he is


calm and composed. The astrologer shall follow the following steps:

1. Note down the Ruling planets at the time of judgement. They are lagna
star and sign Lord, moon star and sign Lord and day Lord. In case of any
nodes representing the rp, consider them. Do not consider rp that is in
retro star and sub.
2. Once chart is cast, check for promise of the event in the chart. If the
client has come seeking an answer for a particular question, go for horary.
If the relevant cuspal sublord is retro, event is not going to take place.
Otherwise check whether the cuspal sublord signifies any of the relevant
houses. In that case, there is promise in the chart. In case the cuspal
sublord signifies only the negative houses, and not any positive houses
then the event is not promised. In case it signifies both positive and
negative then also the event is promised.
3. If promise is seen, list down the significators of the relevant houses. For
ex, 2, 7, 11 are to be seen for marriage. The significators of a house are in
the order of strength, planets in the constellation of occupant, occupant,
planet in the constellation of the bhava Lord, bhava Lord, any planet
aspecting the cusp. The last being the planets by their nature, viz, Venus
for marriage, Jupiter for children, etc
4. Now pick the significators that are common between rp and that
mentioned in 3.
5. Once the common significators are arrived at, check for the dasa bhukti
and anthara of the planets in 4 in the near future.
6. Now check the transits, for chosen dba’s. Two transits an amateur can
start with are star interse, i,e. The dba Lords transiting in each others stars.
The other one being Jupiter sun and moon transits in the dba Lords stars
and sub.
The timing can be arrived at using the said procedure. Some of the references
that one can get are from the six readers by Prof KP himself and another book
named ‘Astrosecrets and KP’ by Sri MP Shanmugham.
