Sleeping Robot

Materials:
 yellow, white and blue cotton yarn
 2.0 mm crochet hook
 fiberfill
 black embroidery floss
 needle
 two buttons: white and blue
 scissors

Abbreviations:
 ch – chain
 sc – single crochet
 inc – increase (single crochet 2 in next stitch)
 dec – decrease (single crochet 2 together)
 inc2 – increase (single crochet 3 (!) in next stitch)
 dec2 – decrease (single crochet 3 (!) together)
 BLO – back loops only

Head
Using yellow yarn.
Ch 6, start in the 2nd ch from hook:
R1 – 4 sc, 3 sc in the 1st ch, turn: 3 sc, 2 sc in the last ch (12)
R2 – *inc2, 3 sc, inc2, 1 sc* repeat 2 times (20)
R3 – *1 sc, inc2, 5 sc, inc2, 2 sc* repeat 2 times (28)
R4 – *2 sc, inc2, 7 sc, inc2, 3 sc* repeat 2 times (36)
R5 – *3 sc, inc2, 9 sc, inc2, 4 sc* repeat 2 times (44)
R6 – *4 sc, inc2, 11 sc, inc2, 5 sc* repeat 2 times (52)
R7 – *5 sc, inc2, 13 sc, inc2, 6 sc* repeat 2 times (60)
R8 – BLO: 60 sc
R9-19 – 60 sc
R20 – BLO: *5 sc, dec2, 13 sc, dec2, 6 sc* repeat 2 times (52)
R21 – *4 sc, dec2, 11 sc, dec2, 5 sc* repeat 2 times (44)
R22 – *3 sc, dec2, 9 sc, dec2, 4 sc* repeat 2 times (36)

Begin stuffing the head. Continue stuffing along the way.
R24 – *1 sc, dec2, 5 sc, dec2, 2 sc* repeat 2 times (20)

Fasten off leaving a long end for sewing. Stuff the head and sew up
the hole.

Face
Using white yarn.
Ch 7, start in the 2nd ch from hook:
R1 – 5 sc, 3 sc in the 1st ch, turn: 4 sc, 2 sc in the last ch (14)
R2 – *inc2, 4 sc, inc2, 1 sc* repeat 2 times (22)
R3 – *1 sc, inc2, 6 sc, inc2, 2 sc* repeat 2 times (30)
R4 – *2 sc, inc2, 8 sc, inc2, 3 sc* repeat 2 times (38)
R5 – *3 sc, inc2, 10 sc, inc2, 4 sc* repeat 2 times (46)
R6 – *4 sc, inc2, 12 sc, inc2, 5 sc* repeat 2 times (54)
Fasten off leaving a long end for sewing. Using blue yarn
embroider the line between R5 and R6. Using black embroidery
floss embroider the eyes and the mouth. Attach the face to the
head.

Antenna
Begin with yellow yarn.
R1 – 6 sc in magic ring (6)
R2 – *inc* repeat 6 times (12)
R3-4 – 12 sc
Begin stuffing.
R5 – *dec* repeat 6 times (6)
Continue with blue yarn.
R6 – 6 sc
Continue with white yarn.
R7 – *1 sc, inc* repeat 3 times (9)
Continue with blue yarn.
R8 – *2 sc, inc* repeat 3 times (12)
Fasten off leaving a long end for sewing. Stuff the detail and attach
it to the head.

Ears (make 2)
Begin with blue yarn.
R1 – 5 sc in magic ring (5)
Continue with white yarn.
R2 – *inc* repeat 5 times (10)
Continue with blue yarn.
R3 – *inc, 1 sc* repeat 5 times (15)
Continue with yellow yarn.
R4-5 – 15 sc
Fasten off leaving a long end for sewing. Stuff the ears and attach
them to the head.

Body
Using yellow yarn.
R1 – 8 sc in magic ring (8)
R2 – *inc2, 1 sc* repeat 4 times (16)
R3 – *1 sc, inc2, 2 sc* repeat 4 times (24)
R4 – BLO: 24 sc
R5-10 – 24 sc
Fasten off leaving a long end for sewing. Stuff the body and attach
it to the head. Attach the buttons on the front.

Arms/Legs (make 2+2)


Begin with yellow yarn.
R1 – 6 sc in magic ring (6)
R2 – *inc* repeat 6 times (12)
R3-4 – 12 sc
Begin stuffing.
R5 – *dec* repeat 6 times (6)
Continue with blue yarn.
R6 – *1 sc, inc* repeat 3 times (9)
Continue with white yarn.
R7 – 9 sc
Then change the yarn (blue/white) in every row.
R8-14 – 9 sc
For the arms fasten off leaving a long end for sewing. For the legs
continue crocheting changing the yarn (blue/white) in every row.
R15-16 – 9 sc
Fasten off leaving a long end for sewing. Stuff the legs and arms
lightly and attach them to the body.
