According to the severe climate change in recent days, professionals among different fields now
pay more attention to the management and adjustment when meeting the issues of climate.
Moreover, climate also obviously affects the natural and designed landscape. To systematically
and specifically understand how landscape is designed in response to different climate, this paper
will firstly discuss the fundamental interaction between landscape design and climate. And then
it will evaluate the different landscape elements dealing with different types of climate, finally
and importantly to analysis the definite impact on practical landscape design based on former
findings. The result will focus on the decision making on design methods within climate change
and provide rational recommendations for designers and planning of future landscape design.

CHAPTER 1
INTRODUCTION-
The architectural design of a building has a tremendous effect on the heating, cooling and
lighting of a building. In fact, when an architect starts to design the appearance of a building, he/
she is simultaneously starting the design of the heating, cooling and lighting. In this connection,
plants are also immensely useful in the heating, cooling and lighting of buildings. Although
plants are very popular, they are usually used for their aesthetic rather than functional benefits.
Ideally, along with their decorative function they could act as windbreaks in the winter, as
shading devices and evaporative coolers in the summer, and as light filters all year long. Plants
can also reduce erosion, noise, dust and other air pollution, the level of carbon dioxide, and
increase the level of oxygen in the local air.
In that case, buildings can be combined into landscaping techniques that promote the heating,
cooling and lighting of buildings. The shading from plants depends on the species, pruning, and
maturity of the plants. The best shading devices are the deciduous plants, because they lose their
leaves in response to temperature changes. Other advantages of deciduous plants include low
cost, aesthetically pleasing quality, ability to reduce glare and ability to cool the air by
evaporation from the leaves.
AIM-
To Study about how landscape can effect the microclimate.
OBJECTIVE-
• To Study about the Micro-Climate and How it effects the building.
• How landscape plays an important role in effecting the landscape.
• To study about the role of trees, pavement, shrubs, waterbody, groundcovers in Micro-
Climate.
• To study that not only macro-climate effect on building but micro-climate is also
important.
SCOPE –
• The study includes the use of landscape as for cooling effect in the summer season.
• The study includes the adjustment of environment conditions in the interiors of building so
that their inhabitants find them comfortable and pleasant .
LIMITATIONS-
• Everything is not fully covered naturally , artificial source is also necessary.
• We can’t depend on the landscape only, artificial source is also necessary.
