Introduction
Mahaguthi Craft. with Conscience (MCWC) is a Fair-Trade organization established to provide

socio economic empowerment to the people of Nepal. Founder of this organization is Late

Mr. Tulshi Mehar Shrestha Our organization represents the efforts of more than one thousand

individual producers, 85% of whom are women. By promoting local artisans and their

handicrafts, Mahaguthi is supporting the local economy, culture and livelihoods of people.

We are a guaranteed member of World Fair Trade Organization and one of the founding members

Of Fair-Trade Groups Nepal. Working with these organizations allows Mahaguthi

to practice, promote and advocate Fair Trade standards at a local, national and global level.

Value

Mahaguthi Promote and preserve culture and heritage by promoting indigenous art, crafts and skills by
developing marketable products. It Produce products which are not harmful to the environment.

VISION

Achieve an economic and social progress that guarantees equity, justice and peace for everyone.

MISSION

Establish Mahaguthi as a sustainable Fair-Trade brand that promotes the economic and social well-
being of disadvantaged producers, artisans and communities. Increasing their capacity for quality,
innovation, competitiveness and customer orientation, while we promote their products and services
both locally and internationally.
Contributions of the organization to the Community
Mahaguthi aims at economic empowerment of people. Provide economic opportunities for
disadvantaged people and communities specially women and disadvantaged groups. Promote micro and
small entrepreneurship development through backward and forward integration. Helps physically
disadvantage people in developing skills on marketable product so that they can be finically helped.

How does organization seek support in order to achieve their mission/vision?


Organization produce goods such as handmade paper, stationary, gifts, woodcarving, home décor and
furniture. Exporting goods to the international markets more than 20 countries in Europe, North
America and Asia-pacific regions. Organization seek support in order to achieve their mission/vision.
So Mahaguthi is a non-profit sharing company which doesn’t seek support rom anyone
