14 April Report

The daily report summarizes maintenance activities at a power plant. Cooling tower gear boxes and HRSG ball valves were inspected and repaired. Water treatment plant analyzers were replaced. Condenser tube cleaning continued using high pressure water. Inspections of lugs and terminals as well as an HP live steam MOV rectification were ongoing. A steam turbine lube oil return line issue was fixed and portable lube oil purifier filters were replaced. An IPB air compressor was also inspected.

DAILY REPORT

Overview:
Visited the power plant site and followed the operation and maintenance
activities performed during the day.

Operation Activities:
 Steam turbine portable lube oil purifier is taken into service for 8 hours.

Maintenance Activities:
Throughout the day, witnessed the following maintenance activities:

Cooling Towers:
The inspection activity of the gear box of cooling towers was carried out by
mechanical maintenance department. During the activity, the bolts of gear boxes

of cooling tower fans were tightened and the cleaning of oil was also performed .

HRSG-2:
The leakage of air from the inlet air ball valve of HRSG-2 was rectified by I&C
maintenance department. A new ball valve was installed.

WTP:
In WTP, two analyzers, one of demin water tank PH and other of demin water
tank conductivity were reported faulty. New analyzers for PH and conductivity
were installed by I&C department.

Condenser Cleaning:
The cleaning of condenser tubes in the steam turbine hall is continued with high
pressure jet cleaner. The pressure of water is adjusted at 200 bar and water is
injected into each tube for at least 25 seconds. By adjusting the size of the gun,
the cleaning process today was much faster than the previous days. 2 sections of
condenser water box side have been completed and the rest will continue from
tomorrow.

Lugs and Terminals:


The inspection activity of lugs and terminals is continued in the Gas Turbine hall.
The cleaning of different junction boxes was also performed. Some faulty lugs
were also replaced by I&C department.

HP Live Steam MOV:


The rectification of HP live steam MOV of HRSG-3 is in progress by mechanical
maintenance department. Today the MMD dismantled the motor and actuator of
the valve and performed cleaning of stem and other parts. The activity will
continue tomorrow also.

ST Lube Oil Return Line:


In ST hall, seepage of oil observed from the four flanges of the return line of lube
oil. The issue is rectified by mechanical maintenance department by tightening
the bolts of all four flanges of return line.
DAILY REPORT

ST Portable Lube Oil Purifier:


Filters of steam turbine lube oil purifier were replaced. Total 40 filters are used in
portable lube oil purifier.

ST IPB Compressor:
The inspection activity of IPB air compressor in the steam turbine hall was carried
out by I&C maintenance department.
