1 Requirements

Hardware-Requirements (mandatory):
Microsoft Windows Server 2008 or
Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 or
Microsoft Windows Server 2012 or
Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 or
Microsoft Windows Server 2016 or
Microsoft Windows 7 or
Microsoft Windows 8 or
Microsoft Windows 10
 At least 4 GB memory
 1,5 GB disk space
 Screen resolution: 1280 x 1024 pixel
 Monitor size 19“

Software requirements:
 Microsoft Excel 2007, 2010, 2013, 2016 or 365 for using the Excel interface

Additionally at run time:

 A valid license: a dongle (hardware) or a KeyCode (alphabetic string).

Online-Systems (SR::EPOS, EPOS) have higher demands!

2 Preparations

See document “Licensing_EN.doc” in case you are working with a network dongle.
The installation has to be done by a user with administrator privileges.
You can install EBSILON®Professional – without logging out – as a non-administrator by
using the “run as” functionality.

If you select an existing EBSILON Professional installation folder (e.g. from a previous
installation) as the current installation folder, the previous version will be updated
(overwritten). We do not recommend this.

3 Installation
Insert the CD into your PC.

Normally the EBSILONInstallationStarter will start automatically. If not, start

“EBSILONInstallationStarter.exe” from the CD-ROM.
If you are not logged in as an administrator, you can start the setup as an administrator.
Therefore open an Explorer Window, select the CD-ROM, right click on
“EBSILONInstallationStarter.exe” and select “Run as an administrator”.

Therefore you have to input the administrator’s password. This Message-Box might
appear – answer with “Yes” or “Ja”.

3.1 EBSILONProfessional InstallationStarter

Now this window will appear:

 Choose a Setup

There are two different variants of EBSILON®Professional Release 13:

 EBSILON®Professional 64 Bit
 EBSILON®Professional 32 Bit

Only the installations applicable on your current PC are displayed. The system
information used is displayed in the “System Information” area.
For example: select the 64-Bit button in order to install the 64 bit version of
EBSILON®Professional.

 Choose a Setup Language (Choose English or German).

 Up to four items (prerequisites) will be installed on your PC – this might last

several minutes

A reboot might be requested not. Please agree. After reboot the installation will start again
automatically. If not, just start it again yourself.

During the further installation several dialogs will be displayed. Please follow their
instructions.

 Welcome to the ... (click the “Next“ button)

 Customer Information – Please enter your name and company. Then click the
“Next“-button.

 Destination folder – Ebsilon will be installed into this installation folder. Normally
you need not change the suggested folder.

 Dongle or KeyCode Licensing – Choose your type of licensing (Dongle or

KeyCode) by activating one of the two checkboxes, then click the “Next” button.

 Setup-Type: Choose the setup type by clicking one of the check boxes:

Complete:
o To install EBSILON®Professional with tutorials and online help

Custom:
o To install EBSILON®Professional without tutorials and/or without the online
help system and/or without the program to install the NetKeyCode-Server

If you made your choice, click the “Next“ button.

Custom Setup only

o Install to – Determine the folder where to install EBSILON®Professional. If

you do not want to use the suggested folder, click the „Change“ button and
choose another folder. You can specify a new folder too. If you made your
choice, click the „Next“ button.
o Feature Installation – choose here, if the tutorials and/or the documentation
including the online help system and/or without the program to install the
NetKeyCode-Server will be installed or not
o If you made your choice, click the “Next” button

 Ready to Install – Click install to start the installation. If you want to review or
change any of your installation settings, click the “Back” button. Click the “Cancel”
button to exit the wizard.

 EBSILON®Professional Licensing (does not apply to all installations) – Click

the “Next” button two times.

 Send Registration Code to STEAG Energy Services GmbH (does not apply to
all installations) – Click one of the two buttons “Mail” or “Save” and make sure that
your licensing data is sent to STEAG Energy Services. Then click the “Finish”
button.

 EBSILON®Professional Install Wizard complete – click the “Finish“ button.

 To install the EBSILON®Professional Excel-AddIn for Office 2007, 2010, 2013 and
2016 see document “ExcelAddIn_EN.doc”.
 If you have chosen the KeyCode type of licensing, you now have to input the
KeyCode you have received from us. You get the KeyCode, if you mail us the
license data created at the very end of the installation (file with extension .mi2 to
licenser@ebsilon.com).

The installation of EBSILON®Professional is finished now. Click the “Close” button to end
the EBSILONProfessional InstallationStarter.

 via the Windows Start menu or
 via the EBSILONProfessional 13 Startcenter
 via the tile „EBSILONProfessional 13“ in the start screen or

5 Compatibility
The EBSILON®Professional file format 13.0 differs from the file format of former
EBSILON®Professional versions.
All cycles created with former versions of EBSILON ®Professional can be opened with
version 13.0.

6 Hints
Do not store your EBSILON®Professional models (cycles) together with the
EBSILON®Professional program, but in your working folder – the best idea would be to
store them not on the system disk.
