Summary
Compassionate future teacher currently completing a degree in special education with a passion for working
with individuals with all types of special needs. Experience in the field beginning in 2012 as a part of Best
Buddies which has grown to include multiple roles including tutor, student teacher, behavioral support, intern
for a special needs ministry, one-on-one support for students at camps/community events/day-care, and more.
Focused on helping individuals grow in all areas of life such as academics, career, building relationships,
social/emotional skills, and daily living skills to find their version of success.

 Co-taught an English/Reading class to a group of 15 sixth grade students who were in the program to
become first-generation college graduates for their families
 Creatively implemented accommodations and supports around students’ diverse learning and
behavioral needs while also connecting material to student interests
 Problem solved ways to break language barrier both when teaching students new vocabulary and when
communicating with parents

● Worked with student daily and monitored social and emotional situations
● Found creative ways to ensure he was included, supported, and comfortable both individually and
in the group of children in daycare with him (who did not have special needs)

● Provided one-on-one tutoring for a high school student with Autism
● Topics included financial literacy, reading and comprehension, personal grooming, emotional/social
skills, job skills training, and daily life skills.
