I. Introduction
Any operating organization should have its own structure in order to operate efficiently. For an organization,
the organizational structure is a hierarchy of people and its functions.
The structure of an organization is a formal framework for making decision through which division;
coordination and grouping of tasks are done. It defines the organization units and policies explicitly
and states the procedures and objectives of the organization.
II. Objective(s)
To establish a company that gives authority and responsibility for every employers.
To know the limit and scope of works of every employees' position in a company.
III. Discussion
MOPP Construction was tasked to construct a bridge located in Trece Martires, Cavite because of
the increasing vehicular density.
PRESIDENT
The President’s position is the highest executive position in the company. The President will
formulate the company’s strategic planning to achieve the objectives of the business plan with the
aim of maximizing return and minimizing risk for the company.
VICE PRESIDENT
The Vice President of Construction works directly with other senior management personnel
on future business and strategic planning as well as focuses on improving current systems and
work processes.
GENERAL MANAGERS
General manager’s duty include calculating cost estimates, budgets and schedules;
selecting appropriate construction methods for the job and budget; explaining contracts and
technical information to employees; supervising construction personnel and activities onsite;
developing work-arounds for delays and other problems; and hiring and training workers and
subcontractors, as well as making sure the project meets all building and safety codes.
ENGINEER MANAGERS
Responsible for leading and supervising a team of engineers as they develop, test, modify,
and create solutions to technical problems.
PROJECT MANAGERS
Construction project managers oversee all aspects of the building process, working closely
with engineers and architects to develop plans, establish timetables, and determine labor and
material costs. They are responsible for ensuring the project is completed on budget and within
scope. They also hire and manage subcontractors and employees, gather permits, and ensure all
aspects of the project are up to code.
SITE ENGINEER
A site engineer offers advice in the planning, co-ordination and supervision of technical
aspects of construction projects. A site engineer’s role is vital to a construction project: they have a
number of responsibilities including solving technical issues, providing advice, management and
preparing reports.
SURVEYOR
The duties of a land surveyor include recording the space, positioning and angles between
two points on the ground, using agreed-upon reference points, called benchmarks, as a starting
point. The work of a land surveyor also includes using geographic information system device to
prepare a highly detailed, layered map of the results of a survey, to show all easements, soil
conditions and structures on a parcel.
SAFETY ENGINEER
A construction safety engineer ensures all workers at a job site are safe. This includes all
aspects of a job site such as personal protective gear, the site’s safety processes and procedures,
equipment, and the building’s materials.
SUPERVISOR/SUPERINTENDENT
CONSTRUCTION FOREMAN
Foreman is usually the top supervisory position in environments such as construction work
sites. The individual typically has formal training paired with experience in the industry and has the
ability to direct, supervise and troubleshoot common issues that arise on the job. Additionally, a
foreman serves as a go-between with workers and managers and serves as the main point of
contact for job-site operations. In short, the foreman is the leader or boss of a job or work site and
has both specific and floating responsibilities.
CONSTRUCTION WORKERS
STRUCTURAL ENGINEERS
Structural Engineers design structures that must endure stresses and pressures inflicted
through human use and environmental conditions. They configure structures, choose appropriate
building material, inspect the construction work and ensure the structural soundness of buildings
and structures.
COST ESTIMATORS
Cost estimators collect and analyze data in order to estimate the time, money, materials, and
labour required to manufacture a product, construct a building, or provide a service. They generally
specialize in a particular industry or type of product.
PURCHASING MANAGER
In an organization wherein every individual know their specific roles, employees or workers will have
little to no trouble following the company's chain-of-command. By referring to the organizational
structure, one can easily point-out whom to report their encountered problems during the
construction proper.
