Two Tables (Worksheets) in this Template

Columns Appearing in Both Tables


Requirements #: Number for each requirement
Process Reference: Make some kind of link to business process.
Requirement: Clear description of business requirement
Support Data Required - List any data or source not data that supports the
Definition: Category - Specify category of requirement. Example requirements appear
below.
Definition: Priority - Specify priority ranking of the requirement. Examples appear
Definition: Dependencies - Specify priority ranking of the requirement.Examples
appear below.
Gap Analysis: Phase/Scope - Specify the project phase the requirement will be met,
or how the requirement fits into the current scope
Gap Analysis: Configuration - Denote whether changes in configuration will be
Gap Analysis: Customization - Denote whether any customization will be required
Magnitude - Specify objective measures for level of effort for business, technical and
HR. See examples below.

Example Requirement Categories


F Functional - Requirements describing a functional or business requirement in the
subject system
I Interface - Details up and downstream integration with other systems and applications
Q Quality - Requirements describing usability, performance, or scalability standards
associated with the expected functionality
S Security - specifies any requirements related to security and user administration.
W Workflow - Defines workflow or automation requirements

Example Priority Levels


1 Essential - Requirement is essential to project/initiative.
2 Critical - Requirement is critical to project and should be met if at all possible
3 Significant - Requirement provides a significant benefit to the business if met in project
4 Beneficial - Requirement is nice to have and will be beneficial to the business

Example Levels of Effort


High (H) = ??? - ??? Hours/days/weeks
Medium (M) = ??? - ??? Hours/days/weeks
Low (L) = ??? - ??? Hours/days/weeks
