Introduction

Crown Castle is a company dedicated to provides broadcast, data and wireless

communication infrastructure services in the US. Wireless carrier costumer included Verizon,

AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile. Crown Castle is founded in Houston, beginning with a portfolio of

133 cell towers. The main operation of Crown Castle comes from the cell towers, they have

about 40.000 tower sites and some 65.000 miles of fiber. Crown Castle operates as a real estate

investments trust. Crown Castle with 26 years in the market has grown in mobile communication

traffic, this factor is due to the subscription of mobile telephony in the US, the World Bank

reports that in the last 20 years 60 people out of 100 have subscribed to mobile telephony.

Macroenvironment.

Laws & Regulations for the construction or installation of new towers requires

compliance with different rules; federal communication commission (FCC), national

environment policy act (NEPA) and other rules that depend on state or local governments. A new

tower construction requires:

 Approval from the state or local government.

 Compliance with FCC rules implementing the NEPA, ESA and NHPA.

 Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) depending on the tower height and location.

 Antenna structure registration (SRA) with the FCC.

The process of obtaining the different permits in each of the departments could take several

months before the cell tower is installed.

Economy, the depreciation, amortization and accumulation of Crown Castle was 1.5

billion for 2018 due to the gross increase in property and equipment due to capital expenses for

the acquisition of Lightower and Wilcon as a result of the payment of part of the debt, along with

the activities of refinancing, losses were incurred of $ 106 million during 2018. The growth of

technology has been a plus for this company. The world demands more data, in more places, at

faster speeds than ever.[ CITATION htt20 \l 1033 ]. The growth of technology has been a plus for

this company. The growth of the company has been growing as has the demand for new

technology, increased usage of mobile entertainment, mobile internet usage, wireless carrier

focus on expanding both network quality and capacity. As a growing company, Crown Castle

has around 5,000 employees in more than 100 offices across the country. The company opened

the opportunity for recent graduates with the necessary skills to join their team, the profile of the

candidates should be that they have recently graduated with a degree in business, engineering,

liberal arts or other relevant degree, in some cases the company has had to hire international

employees. Crown Castle has introduced more supportive policies for the employees such as

health care, full medical coverage including dental and vision plans, on site gyms and telehealth.

Crown Castle has built community engagement and responsibility by creating a Connected by

Good program, making contributions to local communities to revitalize parks, schools and

bookstores. “At Crown Castle, we take pride in our work and recognize the importance of

community aesthetics. Our business is about connection, just as parks offer a place for all people

Competitive Environment.

Knowing our rivals in the market will always help us to be a stronger company knowing

its weaknesses. Crown Castle rivals in the US are American Tower Corporation, SBA

Communications Corporation. The model of competition between the three companies has been

to buy small companies that years ago owned certain towers and contracts, for example in 2006

Crown Castle International agreed to buy smaller rival Global Signal for $4 billion in cash and

stock. The acquisition concentrated 16,300 towers in the 100 biggest U.S. cities under Houston-

based Crown Castle, compared with 12,600 for top competitor American Tower. [ CITATION

The06 \l 1033 ]. With the purchase of small companies, Crown Castle has been gaining new

clients and maintaining contracts with the old companies, offering new services, implementing

its technology and creating new resources. Its main clients are Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint and

AT&T, with whom Crown Castle is now works to develop 5g technology. One of the main

supplements that has given Crown castle its value in the telecommunications market is small

cells in cities and towns around the country. Small cells are often attached to existing

infrastructure in the public right of way — in this case, a streetlight. In this way, the cities or

towns that were located a great distance from the cell towers have improved their connection.

Crown Castle operates a provider diversity program that enables it to maintain high standards

and integrity. order for a business to qualify as a diverse supplier, they must be at least 51%

owned and operated by minorities, women, or disabled veterans. Crown Castle have made a

difference with their suppliers for the purchase of high volumes.
