Past Continuous Tense

 We use past continuous tense to talk about an action which was in


progress at a time in the past.

- was/ were + verb + ‘ing’


- was + eat + ‘ing’ = was eating
- were + talk + ‘ing’ = were talking

Example:

 Rozi was reading a book when the phone rang.

 While he was washing a cup, his father came home.
