Stress Strain Curve True Multilinear Formula
Stress Strain Curve True Multilinear Formula
INTRODUCTION
This database gives detail of the mechanical & thermal-physical properties of some of the materials
most commonly used in Cameron parts and systems. Also included in the database is the facility to
automatically generate multi-linear/bilinear true stress-strain curves for certain materials.
PLEASE READ THE INFORMATION BELOW BEFORE USING THE DATABASE - IT CONTAINS IMPORTANT
INSTRUCTIONS ON NAVIGATION OF THE DATABASE AND STATES THE ASSUMPTIONS (HIGHLIGHTED
IN BOLD,) WHICH HAVE BEEN MADE WHEN COLLATING MATERIAL PROPERTIES DATA.
OVERVIEW OF DATABASE
The database is split into two tabs – firstly an MS-LIST tab, containing material properties
corresponding to different Cameron MS’s/Part No’s, and secondly a non-linear input generator tab,
which may be used to generate multi-linear & bilinear true stress-strain curves for FEA purposes.
1. MS-LIST
Part 1.1 of this section gives instruction on how to navigate the MS-LIST tab. Parts 1.2 to 1.6 give an
overview of the information found in each section of the MS-LIST tab.
1.1. Navigation
The MS-LIST tab makes use of Excels Auto-filter feature. The auto-filter feature may be used to
navigate to the information of interest, as illustrated by the following examples.
Example 1: You want to find the Elastic Modulus & Poisson’s Ratio for MS- 011516-01.
1. First reset the Auto-Filter from the previous search by selecting the ‘home’ tab on the excel
ribbon and then selecting sort & filter>clear:
