Perspective Projection Question Bank

The document provides 10 problems involving drawing the perspective projections of various 3D shapes including prisms, pyramids, cylinders, and laminas. The problems provide the dimensions of the objects and their positions and orientations relative to the picture plane and observer's point of view. The observer's eye position is given in terms of its distance from the picture plane and ground plane.

PLATE No - PERSPECTIVE PROJECTION

1. A square prism side of base 40 mm and height 60 mm rests with its base on the ground such
that one of its rectangular faces is parallel to and 10 mm behind the picture plane. The station
point is 30 mm in front of PP, 80 mm above the ground plane and lies in a central plane 45 mm
to the right of the center of the prism. Draw the perspective projection of the square prism.
2. A rectangular prism sides of base 50 mm x 30 mm and height 55 mm rests with its base on the
ground plane. A vertical edge is in the picture plane and one of the longer edges of its base is
inclined at 45° to the PP and behind it. The station point is 50 mm in front of PP, 75 mm above
the ground plane and lies in a central plane which passes through the center of the prism. Draw
the perspective projection of the solid.
3. A square prism of base 25 mm x 25 mm and height 40 mm rests on the GP on one of its ends
with a rectangular face receding away from the PP towards right making 60° with PP. The
corner nearest to the PP is 40 mm to the left of the station point and 20 mm behind PP. The
station point is 60 mm above GP and 50 mm in front of PP. Draw the perspective projection of
the prism by visual ray method.
4. A square pyramid of base edge 20 mm and altitude 40 mm rests on its base on the ground with
a base edge parallel to the picture plane. The axis of the pyramid is 25 mm behind the PP and
25 mm to the right of the eye. The eye is 50 mm in front of the PP and 50 mm above the
ground. Draw its perspective view.
5. Draw perspective view of a pentagonal prism of base side 20 mm and height 40 mm when it
rests on its base on the ground plane with one of its rectangular faces parallel to and 20 mm
behind the picture plane. The station point is 45 mm in front of the PP and 60 mm above the
GP. The observer is 20 mm to the left of the axis. Draw the perspective by visual ray method.
6. A hexagonal prism of base side 20 mm and height 40 mm stands on its base on the ground with
a base side parallel to the PP and 15 mm behind the PP. The observer’s eye is 75 mm above the
ground and 60 mm in front of the PP. The eye is located at 30 mm to the right of right extreme
corner of the prism. Draw the perspective view of the prism.
7. A hexagonal pyramid of base side 25 mm and axis 50 mm is resting on GP on its base with a side
of base parallel to and 20 mm behind PP. The station point is 60 mm above GP and 80 mm in
front of PP and lies in a central plane which is 50 mm to the left of the axis of the pyramid. Draw
the perspective view of the pyramid.
8. A cylinder of diameter 40 mm and height 40 mm rests on the GP on one of its ends with its axis
35 mm behind the picture plane. The station point is 45 mm to the right of the axis. The station
point is 65 mm above the GP and 40 mm in front of the PP. Draw the perspective view of the
cylinder by visual ray method.
9. A pentagonal lamina of 40 mm side lies on the ground. The corner which is nearest to the PP is
15 mm behind it and an edge containing the corner is making 45° with PP. The station point is
40 mm in front of PP, 50 mm above GP and lies in a central plane which is at a distance of 70
mm to the left of the corner nearest to the PP. Draw the perspective projection of the lamina.
10. A circular lamina of 45 mm diameter lies on the ground plane and touches the picture plane.
The center plane passes through the center of the circle. Station point is 70 mm in front of
picture plane and 60 mm above the ground plane. Draw the perspective projection.
