construction of polynomials (quadrilaterals & regular hexagon) using
compass and ruler; proof & use of area theorems on parallelogram
 Circle- Chord and arc properties

5. Statistics  Introduction to statistics, collection & presentation of data


 Graphical representation of data, median & mean of ungrouped data

6. Mensuration  Area and perimeter of a triangle & a quadrilateral


 Area and circumference of circle
 Surface area & volume of 3D solids i.e. Cubes & Cuboids

7. Trigonometry  Introduction to trigonometric ratios (sin, cos, tan, cosec, sec, cot)
 Trigonometric ratios of standard angles (0, 30, 45, 60 and 90)
 Simple 2-D problems involving one right- angled triangle.
 Concept of trigonometric ratios of complementary angles and their direct
application

8. Co-ordinate  Introduction to Cartesian system, and plotting points


Geometry  Discussion about solving simultaneous equations in two variables
 Distance formula
