ASFOSIL-DW

(De-watering type rust preventive fluid)

ASFOSIL-DW is a brown-coloured transparent rust preventive fluid containing oils, solvents,


water-displacing additives and corrosion-inhibitors. It has the property of displacing water and
moisture from metal surface. At the same time, it deposits a thin oily rust protective film that
protects the metal surface from atmospheric corrosion for upto ten months under indoor storage
conditions. ASFOSIL-DW conforms to IS-1154 specification.

USES:

It is widely used for protection of parts or components during process, storage, fabrication or transit.
Since it possesses dewatering properties, it is also used for displacing water from metal surfaces
with a rust protective film. It is also used as a sealant for phosphatised parts or blackened parts.

APPLICATION:

ASFOSIL-DW can be applied either by dipping, spraying or brushing at room temperature. It


must be used as supplied without dilution with solvent or water. Parts and components must be
completely clean before applying ASFOSIL-DW.

REMOVAL:

Whenever desired, the film can be removed with kerosene, M.T.O., thinners or alkaline cleaners.

NOTES:

1. ASFOSIL-DW must be used and stored in a well-ventilated, cool, dry place, away from open
flames.
2. M.S. containers having lids may be used. The lids must always be kept covered when not in
use.
