Tagum City Embrace Gay Summit 2015

Tagum City in the Philippines recently hosted the Tagum City Embrace Gay Summit 2015 from July 22-25. The summit celebrated the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community through various activities to promote gender equality, social awareness, and tourism. The theme was "Dare to be free, dare to be you". Mayor Allan L. Rellon expressed his full support for the festival as a way to honor the gay community. One highlight was choosing a "Goddess of the Night" queen from contestants across different cities through challenges evaluating their appearance, intelligence, and costumes. Exur Lanua was crowned the winner.

Tagum City Embrace Gay Summit 2015

TAGUM CITY - has celebrated recently, the festivity of respect and the recognition of
the lesbian, gays, bisexuals, and transgenders held at Tagum City trade Pavilion Center, last
July 22-25, 2015.
This is a celebration of life, happiness, thanksgiving and love through various
activities, in line with promoting gender equality, social awareness and tourism. The theme of
the celebration is “Dare to be free, dare to be you”. Reveals happiness as a human being,
liberty and equality despite of adversity, unity against discrimination. This is one of
momentous event this year, to showcase their notable abilities not just the wit and
exceptional beauty, but also their freedom of expression.
Mayor Allan L. Rellon, extended his full support to the festival as way of extolling the
gay community in the city and considered “It’s a world class preparation!”.
Highlights this year’s summit was the “Goddess of the Night: Gay Summit Queen
2015”, was been participated by exquisite ten (10) contenders from each participating place
like, Davao City, General Santos City, Compostela Valley and especially from Tagum City.
The candidates prepared everything before on that night, appetite, beauty and brains
also their distinct costumes the Goddess attire, casual attire, swimsuit attire and the silver
motif gown, but the most attention-grabbing part is the Question and Answer portion. From
ten contenders down to five (5) gorgeous ladies. The ladies who got the triumph on that night
was the following: Fourth Runner up- Christian Nebrada a.k.a Arci Munoz, Third Runner up-
Angel Montenegro a.k.a Kim Chui and also she took the award of Ms. Photogenic, Second
runner up- Nina Similatan a.k.a Bea Alonzo, First Runner up- Gwen Darvin and Exur Lanua
was the Goddess of the Night: Gay Summit Queen 2015, and bagged the two major awards
the Most Eloquent and the Best in Creative Goddess Costume.
“Being a winner is not a big prestige, but a big responsibility” Lanua said, after the
final walk of all the winners.
