1. Prepare Computer for SIU local maintenance

a. Connect a Ethernet straight cable between your computer and SIU console port

b. Open a CMD window in your PC (start runcmd) and check with “ipconfig” command that SIU DHCP has
assigned a IP address to your computer.

c. If no IP address was assigned, setup a fixed IP address in youre computer with the following settings:
1. IP Address: 192.168.1.3
2. Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
3. Default gateway: 192.168.1.1

d. Open a telnet session to SIU. You can use WINFIOL for this action, by creating a new channel with the
following details:

Or use the command from a windows shell (if you have telnet service enabled):
telnet 192.168.1.1

!username/password:
admin/hidden
Note: The username and password sequence must be completed within 30 seconds...
.... otherwise a security lock for 10 minutes occurs.

e. Install a SFTP server in your computer

Instructions bellow explain how to configure “freeftpd” SFTP Server (freeware)

1. In Users, select ADD option:

login: siu1
Authentication: Password stored as SHA1 hash
Password: siu
Password(again):siu
Home directory: C:\SIU

2. Press APPLY&SAVE

3. In Logging, select options has described bellow:

4. In SFTP, pull down the list of “Listen Address:” and select the IP address to be used by the SFTP
server

5. Press APPLY&SAVE

6. Start the server for SFTP service - Press Start button

7. Press APPLY&SAVE

f. Any firewall in your LCT/PC must be switched off. Optionally windows firewall rules shall be edited to permit
“freeftpd” application to open outbound connections.

g. Copy SIU folder (delivered in workshop) to C:\

This Folder will include the required SFTP server file system:

SCHEMAS – used to store XSD files to be used by SELMA

SIUCFG – used to store Backup/Upload/Download SIU XML configuration files
SIUEM – used to store SELMA files
SIUSW – used to store SIU SW files for Local Upgrade
2. Test the your SFTP server installation

Upload current SIU configuration to SFTP server

Note: the setting gets lost at SIU restart.

uselocalsftp on

b. Start a CM transaction:
startsession bcm1

c. Upload running configuration

upload bcm1 sftp://siu1:siu@<SFTP server IP>/SIUCFG/SIU_UNI_EX2_UPL.xml CM

d. Check Upload Progress

getSessionstatus bcm1
getSessionids

e. Check in SFTP log file that SIU has established connection and upload was performed

f. End the bulk CM session when it finishes:

endSession bcm1

g. Check in your LCT that uploaded file “SIU_UNI_EX2_UPL.xml” is now available in C:\SIU\SIUCFG
3. Fill in configuration information from SIU printouts

Connect to SIU, print current configuration and fill in the tables bellow:
