Portal Submission Guide

Who can submit POC/Idea/ prototype and where

There are two ways of Idea/ POC/ Prototype submission on IIC


portal. One directly by students themselves and other is through IIC
council login (by IIC president or IIC convener).

1. Student login (new registration)


• https://mic.gov.in/iic_innovationcontest.php

2. IIC login by Institute


• https://mic.gov.in/institute/login.php
Submission by student through “New Registration”
• Visit at https://mic.gov.in/iic_innovationcontest.php

• The team lead should do a “New Registration” and create his/ her account.

• The “verification code” will be sent to the email entered and will be your password for

future login (this can’t be changed).

• If you forget the verification code / password use the “get your verification code here”

tab to recover.
Idea/ POC/ Prototype Submission by Student

• Before you apply for this contest visit https://mic.gov.in/innovationcontest and go


through the terms and conditions carefully and keenly.

• Refer Technology Readiness Levels (TRL) and submit the idea/POC/Prototype


accordingly.

• You can either submit the Idea, POC and Porotypes subsequently after clearing each
evaluation stage or if you already have POC/Porotype ready (refer TRL) you can
directly submit POC/Prototype.

• If you submit the Idea/POC/Prototype it will reflect in the IIC login to the IIC
President/Convener and they have to evaluate the submission as per
guidelines/marking scheme given by IIC-MIC at the portal. If IIC President/
Convener/ council rejects the entry the journey of that Idea/POC/Prototype ends then
and there. If Idea/POC/Prototype declared qualified it will reflect under students
login and they can proceed for the next stage.
Guideline for Submission of Ideas by Student Team

• The student team can submit their Idea either directly at IIC Portal in the prescribed format or can
submit to their IIC In-charge for consideration.

• A student team can submit up to 5 Ideas by Clicking “Add More” button.

• After submission of idea(s) by the team lead, it will be reviewed and evaluated by respective IIC
Institute.

• Respective IIC institute will carry out evaluations based on the guidelines given and allocate mark
to each idea and approve/disapprove the idea for upgradation to next level (PoC stage).

• The cut-off score for upgradation to next stage is 25 (out of 50).

• After approval from IIC, student team will be able to see the approved idea under PoC stage and
Student team need to provide additional information required to carry out evaluation of PoC stage
by the IIC Institute.

• IIC Institute will provide handholding and mentoring support and access to lab for conversion of
Idea to PoC stage. Please contact and coordinate with members of IIC of your institute for support.
Guideline for Submission of PoCs by Student Team
• The student team can submit their PoCs either directly at IIC Portal in the prescribed format or can

PoC to Prototype stage. Please contact and coordinate with members of IIC of your institute for
support.
Guideline for Submission of Prototype by Student Team

• The student team can submit their Prototype either directly at IIC Portal or to IIC of their institute.

• A student team can submit up to 5 Prototypes by Clicking “Add More” button.

• After submission of Prototype by the team lead, it will be reviewed and evaluated by respective

IIC Institute.

• IIC institute will carry out evaluations based on the guidelines given and allocate mark to each

Prototype and approve/disapprove the Prototype for nomination to next level.

• Finally based on the score obtained in the evaluation, each IIC Institute will be asked to nominate
maximum 5 best prototype applications to IIC-MHRD’s Innovation Cell for further mentoring and
training support. The cut-off score for upgradation to next stage is 25 (out of 50).

• Contact your IIC faculty members for further support and information.
Idea Submission by Student
• Fill all the requested details in respective fields.
• Download the abstract form and fill all the entries (make your own file in same format if
more space is required) and upload the duly completed form.
• All the submitted ideas will reflect under “List of Ideas Submitted”.
• After approval from IIC - Institute student can’t edit the idea.
PoC Submission by Student
• Process 1: click and make a fresh entry- the process is similar to idea
submission.
• Process 2: If your IIC have approved your Idea, it will appear as shown below and you can directly
click on “Move to POC”. You can edit or remove the POC from “LIST OF IDEAS UPGRADED TO POC
STAGE”.
• POCs will be submitted to your IIC and IIC President/ Convener/ Council has to evaluate it for further
stage.
Prototype Submission by Student

• Process 1: Click and make a fresh entry.

• Process 2: Click and upgrade the approved POC from the


Dropdown. Provide all the requested details to best of your knowledge. Complete all the tabs.

• A team can submit maximum 5 Idea/PoC/Prototypes.


Process 1: Prototype Submission by Student

• Click and make a fresh entry.

• Fill the requested details in all the tabs and click submit to complete the submission process.
Process 2: Prototype Submission by Student

• Click and upgrade the approved POC from the Dropdown in


new popup window.
• The remaining process is similar to process 1.
• Provide all the requested details to best of your knowledge. Fill the required details in all tabs to
complete the submission process. Click submit button. On successful submission you will get a
success popup on you current window.
Submission by Institute (through regular IIC Login)

• Visit at https://mic.gov.in/institute/login.php to login.

• The process of Idea/POC/Prototype submission is largely the same as it is for students.

• Go to Activity> MIC Driven Activity and add Idea/POC/Prototype activity to calendar.

• Go to My Activity Calendar and click “Upload Report”. Then click add Idea/ POC
Submission by Institute (through IIC Login)
• Institute can download the guideline and evaluation criteria for submissions. (given in blue)

• Institute can add Idea/PoC/ prototype from their institute by clicking on upload report against

Idea/PoC/ Prototype activity in My Activity Calendar.

• The Idea or POC can be moved to next stage after ticking the check box against particular entry and by

clicking on Move to POC/prototype. By doing so the qualified submission will be submitted/ upgraded

to next stage for evaluation.

• Scroll down to see the upgraded submissions and they can also be removed from the list if required or

added by mistake.
Evaluation and Review of submitted Ideas/POCs/ Prototypes by IIC
(through IIC Login)
• All the submissions either by students or by IIC, will be visible under Innovation Contest Tab in IIC login and

evaluation scores can be given to each submission based on which submission should be Approved or

Disapproved. A score of 25 or above (out of 50) may be considered for approval.

• All submissions are segregated in three types viz Ideas, POCs and Prototypes.

• Click on each head to see the submissions and give the scores based on evaluation criteria provided and

approve or disapprove.
Evaluation and Review of submitted Ideas/POCs/ Prototypes by
IIC (through IIC Login)

• On approval of Idea/ POC/ Prototype the entry will reflect as approved or disapproved under student

login and they can check it by login to their account.

• The student can move that idea/PoC to next stage (say from idea to PoC) and similarly IIC have to

evaluate it for screening.

• Note:

• Idea, PoC, Prototype submitted by students and by IIC needs to be approved/disapproved with scores.

• Approved idea will display in PoC tab under student login and can be upgraded to PoC.

• Approved PoCs will display in Prototype tab under student login and more details should be added.

• In PoC and Prototype, direct entries as well as upgrade from previous stage is allowed.

• While approving idea, PoC, Prototype institute need to enter mark/score and approve/disapprove

based on the merit of submissions.
