Advertising & Promotional Programs Objectives of KFC
KFC’s target market is middle and upper class young people who likes chicken at different
forms and tests. The aim and objectives of KFC are not selling chickens to make a profit or
money but to expand their business worldwide.
KFC uses all media like TV, Hoardings, Social Media, Print, Online Ad for its promotion. It also
has a strong social presence worldwide which makes customers aware of its products. It also uses
its outlets at maximum extent to promote their products. Advertising objectives are the messages
that a company wants to deliver to its target audience. The three advertising objectives are-
1. To Inform: Informative ads creates awareness of brands, products, services, and ideas. It
announces new products and programs and can educate people about the attributes and
benefits of new or established products.
3. To remind: Reminder Ads reminds people about the need for a product or service, or the
features and benefits it will provide when they purchase promptly.
KFC has different advertisements that convey these three objectives. Some of the programs
are described below with their objectives:-
1. TV Ads: Television advertisement are generally done to reach mass people but KFC do
not target mass people that’s why they do not use too much TV advertisement.
2. Print Ads: KFC promote their products on daily newspapers and magazines on different
occasions. Persuasive ads are mainly put on print ads.
3. Banner ads: They use Banner ads in Big cities like Dhaka, Chittagong Sylhet. This ads
works as Reminder purpose.
4. Social Media: KFC has social media presence. They put informative ad regarding
Product, price , and promotion on Facebook, twitter, YouTube etc.
2. Occasional Ads: KFC posts on their Facebook wall on several occasions like Fathers
day, Mothers Day, World Environment day to remind people that they care for their
customers. So, these are reminder ads. They also launch Special menu like Ramadan
platter, Eid special menu etc to persuade their customers. They also launch several
programs and contests on Various day that creates awareness among customers.
3. Blogs: Bloggers also review KFC stores and products which also creates awareness
among customers. Now a days Food blogging video is very popular among young mass.
People are more likely to take purchase decision by seeing the videos online.
4. Other: KFC also post different ads about social awareness and other social issues on
different time and occasions such as Corona Virus Pandemic, Animal safety etc. This ads
works as Reminder ads. This ads do not directly ask customers to buy. But these ads says
customers that they are present and socially responsible.
