Significance of the Study

This study will be beneficial to the following :

To the Teachers , because it would help them to analyze whether effects of music to students is

negative or positive and how can teachers helps the students to love music

To the Students , because they will know how music can change their daily life. This could also

change their mindset towards music or on learning some instruments because these research , they

will know the effects of music to students on how music can help them in their daily life.

To the Parents , because it could help them to know what should they do in their son/daughter when

they are experiencing stress or depression. They can send their son/daughter to music lesson and

help them find their hidden talents and hobbies

To the Future Researcher , because they could use this as a reference for their research paper that

they may do in the future. This research can give them knowledge and they can use it for their own

research and they could be successful in making their research in future.


INTRODUCTION

Music is 1.7 million years old and overtime it discovered that music has many different

ability like to conjured up emotions in individuals. According to Peneira , Teixeira , Figueiredo , Xavier

, Castro and Brattico in 2011. It has been found to be the most pleasurable human experience. It also

has the ability to evoke feelings of happiness, sadness, and even fear stated by Goycoolea , Levy

and Ramirez in 2013. It said that music has a mood altering effect on people sometimes positive

sometimes negative. All of individuals have their own/different responses in music because they have

their own musical preferences. Music evokes emotions is a complex one. Also Meyer stated in Hu

2009 that emotion is “temporary and evanescent. It can be described as a complex personal

response to a subjective cognitive state , resulting in transitory changes in bodily responses,

expressive behaviors and motivated actions. Also msic can produce different emotions like

happiness,anger,sadness even fear stated by Rana and Akhtar in 2011.Also according to Cliffon in

2008 the first recovered piece of recorded music is in 800 BCE and it was written in Cuneiform and

was a religious hymn.

According to Greasly, Lamount and Sloboba in 2013 that in present time we have our

advantages because we have now our technology and also we have the access to the widest range

of music than ever were before.Additionally they can listen to their favorite song whenever or

wherever they want to by just power of the button by Skanlan in 2013

By analyzing the effects or uses of music in selected grade 10 students. We can easily

identify the importance of music in our life because music is very beneficial to us. It can help us to

develop our different morals and also expands our vocabulary but if there is positive effects there is

also always negative effects.
