8D REPORT / Corrective Action: Complaint Nternal Complaint Date Opened

1) A supplier complaint was received for coating thickness being less than the required minimum of 70 microns. 403 items were re-inspected and 37 were found defective. 2) A corrective action team was formed to investigate. The root cause was found to be a problem with the thermocouple. 3) The corrective action taken was to change the thermocouple and monitor the temperature more frequently. Effectiveness measures showed the temperature problem was solved and results were 100% after implementation. A preventative action of now using two thermocouples was also taken.
